VG 33
Hello I have completed my camouflage according to one picture of the port side. For starboard it's just guess. Patrick Edited February 21, 2012 by VG

Matt Roberts
So does the Indochina MS 406 have Vichy pajamas? The only time I've seen artwork of one was some boxart I'd seen, showing a Thai fighter shooting down one with the striping. But that was a box art afterall and not to be taken too seriously Nice looking build. Matt Edited July 29, 2008 by Matt Roberts
VG 33
More precisions on the camo colors you choose, Patrick, perhaps? Hi Xtracolor overall. X 384 Khaki (around FS 14079) but next time I think I will use a lighter one for instance a FS 14102. X 386 Ombre Calcinée (Burnt Umber) X 389 Gris Bleu Clair (Light Blue Grey) X 207 (RLM 75) this one is lighter than the Xtracolor Dark Blue Grey Patrick

Thye were partly coming from an order of China and crated for one year in Saigon. Later in 1942, and it will be another kit for me, they were painted with red and yellow stripes on the nose, overall red on the tail and with some white stripes around the fuselage and on the roundels. VG 33
Hello I'm back to my 406. I have bleached some panels for the weathering (remember the Winter in Indochina). I have modified the undercarriage legs and changed the doors which were wrong and too thick Patrick Edited February 21, 2012 by VG
RKic
The bleaching looks very fine. What sort of airbrush set up do you run to get such accurate control?
VG 33
The bleaching looks very fine. What sort of airbrush set up do you run to get such accurate control? Thank you Actually I am not cartesian. First I use some of the previous color with a drop of white and more thinned. Next I try on a sheet of paper to get the finnest line by varying the pressure on the compressor and the paint flow on the airbrush control knob. I am very satisfied with my Tamiya airbrush too. I can add that I use Xtracolor paints which are fine and easy to thin. I made like this on these two previous build : Spitfire Mk IX Indochina 1947 Consolidated B-24D Italy 1943 That's all I can say. johnsan
Lovely paintwork there, Patrick. I like what you're doing with this Hobby Boss kit. It makes me want to build the one I have lurking in the closet.

VG 33
Hi Finnished before the deadline. I chose the MS 406 N°341 because this was the one Maître Châtel from Escadrille 2/596 flew when he shot down a Thaï Corsair V-93S on December 9, 1940. Sadly in spite of my huge documentaion about the MS 406 the Armée de l'air number painted underside in white has been unknown so far. johnsan
Lovely model Patrick. Which MS 406 kit do you prefer? Hasegawa, Hobby Boss, Heller, Frog? I think HB's prop and spinner look a bit odd. Really like your treatment of the undercarriage. John

Really like your treatment of the undercarriage. John Thank you John Obviously the Hasegawa kit is the best but the price is heavier too. I am not satisfied with the prop and spinner but I did not see how to correct them. For the undercarriage I can say "it looks better". Patrick
VG 33
Beautiful work Patrick! Your airbrush skills are an inspiration.:) Mark Thank you Mark I have found a good way to use my airbrush and my Xtracolor paints. The problem now is with the wash in the pnel lines. I am using some ink and when I clean around them with a damp cloth they must be deep enough otherwise the ink disapears. I have a Venezuelan F-16B in progress and the Haseggawa lines are not deep enough I think I will try something else. Patrick
