Neil
Right oh, I'll join in the non-aircraft stuff too. Model of a Suzuki RGV XR89, using the lovely 1/12 Tamiya kit, originally built a few months back for the Motorsport GB over on BM. Various aftermarket stuff was also used including photo etch, carbon fibre decal, exhaust springs etc. I also made some custom resin bits here and there to add a bit more detail ( now there's a surprise .... :( ). :)
Neil
More .... :(
Neil
Finally .... Finished model was mounted on a piece of genuine carbon fibre to finish it off nicely (also using one of those ready made Tamiya display case bases). :(
moeggo
Lovely looking Suzuki!!! I would love to do Rossi's Honda sometime!
geedubelyer
Holy Schnikes Neil :o That is lovely! You must have some terrific reference stuff to be able to run all of the pipes, cables and hoses correctly. The exhausts came out beautifully.......Alclad II ? Marvellous gloss on the fairings too. It goes to show that with a little extra attention these Tamiya bikes can be built to look like the real thing. Superb job all round Neil. p.s. Any thoughts about adding "liquid" to the expansion bottles? *Edit*...Oops, I forgot to mention the chain. That etched chain is a vast improvement over the plastic part. What a gorgeous build. shockwave
That right there, is a work of art mate!!! Been a huge motorbike fan for as long as I can remember, and if it wasn't for the display base, that would fool me as the real thing, no problems at all.

Neil
Thanks again for the comments people, much appreciated. :) can I ask you something though?what paints didi you used for this project??? are they automotive paints or just the clear coat is automotive??? can you tell me exactly what you used? Cheers mate Jack The paints I used were as follows: The White is Tamiya X2, thinned with Cellulose Thinners. The Light Blue is Tamiya X14 Sky Blue with a little bit of Tamiya X4 Blue added, thinned with Cellulose. The Medium Blue is Revell No.51 Blue, thinned with Cellulose. The Dark Blue is Humbrol No.15 Dark Blue with just a little Revell No.51 Blue, thinned with Cellulose. The Clear Coat is Halfords Clear Laquer (an Automotive Aerosol Laquer) but it was decanted from the aerosol and applied through the airbrush instead, more control over it that way. The Clear Coat was applied in VERY light coats, so that it did not react with the Acrylic and Enamel coats of White and Blues. B)

Cheers neil Cellulose thinner is known as lacquer thinner in the states. Not sure what it is called in Italy, but I do believe nitro is something completely different. MoFo
You mean you didn't go for one of the functional, individual link chain sets? Sissy. http://www.hiroboy.com/catalog/product_inf...roducts_id=2360
FlyingSnowmew
You mean you didn't go for one of the functional, individual link chain sets? Sissy. http://www.hiroboy.com/catalog/product_inf...roducts_id=2360 I wish I could even work with basic PE parts. However I must consider the person who assembles the functional chain a masochist.
