Hal Marshman Sr
Hier ist der GFM Erwin Rommel, WIP. Broke the goggles for the cap. Notice jacket color, this is proper color for faded German Tropical uniforms, not the off-white Tamiya suggests. brgds, Hal
Helo_Dud
Looks great Hal. Over all painting is nice, especially with the skin colors. I'd like to see more. Joe

Hal Marshman Sr
For me, the jury's still out re Rommel's riding breeches. I still need to see a good photo of him wearing this jacket, with the scarlet embellishment stripes on the breeches. It's quite possible he may have elected to wear lower rank officer's breeches without the stripes. One thing is he probaebly nver wore tan breeches as shown by some painters. I have seen a pic of him wearing tropical issue shorts, with long hose and brogans. While I'm at it, the German Army in Afrika never had a kahki topped visored hat, as I've also seen rendered by some. There were 2 styles of field caps, and trop colored sun helmets, but no visored hats. Thanks for your kind commentary. brgds, Hal Edited August 22, 2008 by Hal Marshman Sr
