oldHooker
Number 4 (and most important of all): CONSIDER EACH AND EVERY SINGLE STEP OF THIS CONVERSION PROCESS AS A MODEL ITSELF. DON'T LOOK AT AN A340-600 PROJECT AS IF YOU HAD TO HAVE IT DONE NEXT WEEK. PLAN AHEAD. DON'T CUT ANYTHING UNLESS YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN OF WHAT THE NEXT 2 STEPS ARE. DO THE FUSE. STOP. DO THE FIRST WING. STOP AGAIN. DO THE EMPENNAGE. STOP ONCE MORE. (CONSIDER BUILDING SOMETHING ELSE IN THE MEAN TIME - YOU WANNA HAVE SOMETHING NEW FOR THE NEXT SHOW, DON'T YOU?) Eduardo, This is EXCELLENT advice regardless what's being butchered! :D If I didn't build in segments like that, I'd burn out in a week! Beautiful conversion you have going there! You're one after my own heart! "Don't AM accessories save lots of touble?" "Only if you'd rather spend less time Modeling!") Take care, Frank Edited November 25, 2008 by oldHooker
GCA333
I am not going to buy the Bra.z one, it is too pricey. I could buy one and take measurements I guess.
carioca
Yes, Frank, I can say I've been learning quite a lot from that build. Some might say it's crazy, but it's been fun! Believe me! And if I get sometimes bored with all the sanding and puttying... I lay it aside for a couple of weeks before I get back to it. That simple. Even though it might not be a How to after its done, I'll write a report on how it worked with me. Regards Eduardo
GCA333
I pretty much understand the conv, except the engines. I don't want to buy an An-125 just for the engines. Thanks Carioca!

vc-10
Why not try emailing Ivo at Braz? He might be able to sell you the engines on their own.
GCA333
I sent Ivo an email last week, no reply. He said on AMD he has many, many emails per day. I will ask about the engines. Anyone else interested in them?
MiG31
Add my name to the engine list, provided I cannot get ahold of a full conversion.
le_boz
You can count me in, Boz
GCA333
Alright, I will let Ivo know we have a few interested. Maybe an A345/6 group build for all of us to get them right?
GCA333
I sent Ivo an email about the engines. I will not buy the Bra.z kit at all. Waaaay to expensive. I am glad I can get proper decals (Draw Decals).
GCA333
Anyone have any idea when Hannants of AHS will get these?
Tony P
I noticed that Hannants had some of the GSE listed in their what's new. Didn't see the conversion though.
GCA333
I saw that too, he also has the Tu-144 kit available, shame about the price.
le_boz
well, about the Tu144, you can also get it from aviationmegastore for 95 Euros or something which is much lower price considering you wont pay VAT outside Europe. Boz
