B-1 Nut
Whoa....I love that paint job! I'd actually like to build a C-130 in that scheme. Very cool paint! Is it just me or is that pilot really short? The shots were awesome. Looked like a very good show. JED Edited September 7, 2008 by B-1 Nut
David Walker
Now that's quite the photo, getting the pyrotechnic reflections off the bottom of the plane!:
GreyGhost
Your usual Top Shelf caliber of work Steven, Great Pics ! You do realize the person taking the ride in the CPD MD-500 was taking a picture of you taking a picture of them, right ? Thanks for sharing them ! <....>Very cool paint! Is it just me or is that pilot really short? <...> JED Jed, I believe it's because the pilot is sitting in the left hand seat ... Could be a little short too I guess ... FAR148
Thanks Anthony Thanks Tom, That C-130 has been getting around the airshow circuit. At Thunder over Michigan, it flew with Jack Roush's P-51B "Old Crow". Craig and Mike Shawn and I missed you both. Thanks JED, I too like that paint job. It's nice to see a colorful Air Force bird. Gregg is right about the pilot sitting in the left hand seat. Thanks David, I was hoping that shot would turn out. I was not use my normal airshow lense. I was using a Quantaray 70-300 mm f/4-5.6 AF Zoom. Not the greatest airshow lense, heck it is probably the cheapest 70 to 300 out there but it just goes to show yeah it's not about having the best gear to get a great shots. The shots of Sean Tucker flying though the ribbon supports, the colorful Mansfield's C-130, Yankee Lady over the wall of fire, the heritage flight w/ P-51 F15 and F16, the two Fat Albert shots, Blue Angel no#5 at take off and the last shot of the Blues breaking was all shot with the Quantaray lense. Not bad for $150 lense. Thanks Gregg, Yeah, :) Each year they do it, fly right down the show line shooting the crowd. Next Stop, Oceana! Steven L
ChernayaAkula
Outstanding pics! ::) Thanks for sharing! Really like the shots of the B-17! Even Strikemasters want to be Killer Tweets!
Sietse
These are really great shots. My favourite shots: The Superhornet. Do you have made more close-ups of the Golden Knights aircraft? I am looking for these for an upcoming modelling project. Sietse
Vesper
Hey Steve, you wouldn't happen to need some help. . . I'd love to learn how to shoot pics like that! Ves
FAR148
Thanks Moritz, I'm getting a lot of request for copy's and or prints of the shot. I don't give away my files but I do sell prints. Thanks Sietse, Sorry, all of my shots of that aircraft are of take off, flying and landing. I don't have anything like a walk around. Ves, Funny you ask, I'm currently work on an article on just that! Cheers, Steven L
