A-7E Corsair II

Recommended Posts

Love that cockpit. I think the next time I do something like this I will get the aftermarket cockpit, but since the canopy is going to be closed I figured no one looking would be able to view the great detail... I think mine looks pretty good, thank goodness for future, at least that will make the canopy nice and clear so you can see it. Ill get some pics on my thread soon!

Relax Dude, RELAX !!!

We realy want to see the joy Your experiencing during the build, when viewing the pic's !!!

Take Your time my friend: I've started my F-1 / T-2 WIP some time ago only showing some

sprue-shot's sofar. Do I care...??? NOOOOOOOO !!!

Sooo, everybody's waiting for some progress ? Good, that way they will appreciate it even more

Uhhh,

my Has-issues came with recessed panel lines...

Yeah they are recessed but the sanding kind of took them off, so since I rescribed some I figured I would try my hand at rescribing the whole thing, looks pretty good. Just a few touchups here and there!

Hmmm...mebbe I should pick up this thread again?....

I'm gonna have to say no. At least not now.

How about waiting a month or two?

I'd like to finish mine and feel happy about it for a while before you outclass it..

Time to ressurect an ancient WIP :D

Just felt likle picking up this slumbered project again...perhaps not as I had orginally thought but it´s a go at least :D

Checked if all the parts were to be found...looks good, seems to have misplaced the decals though, guess I´ll be doing some aftermarket shopping :D

Well I picked up at the cockpit...

Glued the PE at the rear bulkhead in the canopy...I really like that the inside frames are a separate part.

IMG_3300_zpsoknh6qjb.jpg

Glued some mirrors and other PE into the inside frame.

IMG_3301_zpsuwx33ah2.jpg

Fixed up the bang seat, a SJU-8 so it´ll be a late SLUFF ...
IMG_3303_zpskxbc7qxq.jpg

Painted up the cockpit roughly.

IMG_3304_zpsdnkvf2af.jpg

Made room for the cockpit in the fuselage.

IMG_3305_zpsbbjcnkgo.jpg

And finished with a pour and dump of the intake.

Cheers!

Don't worry about how long it takes, i'm sure most of us have more than a few partially built kits sitting in dusty boxes. As for the intake, no need to worry about it being super clean and white as they get weathered too:

Kiitos Jari :D

I wouldn't have seen this had you not resurrected it.     Beautiful work on the cockpit and canopy so far!   I bought a Hasegawa A-7E myself --  an old kit and the decals are yellowed -- but the parts look gorgeous!  Looking forward to your updates!

Painted the insides of the fuselage halfes.

IMG_3311_zpskzf7fjvr.jpg

Painted the exhaust...nothing fancy since it won´t be seen much.

IMG_3312_zps7qlapag7.jpg

Glued the exhaust and the intake into place in the fuselage.
IMG_3313_zpsvgnbhpir.jpg

I even dry fitted the pit...looks god not sure if I´ll need any more weight up front....any thoughts?

IMG_3317_zpse4dsyeya.jpg

Itty bitty work done on the corsair today :D

Ready for some filler...

IMG_3324_zpsab8e2s7a.jpg

And on with the green stuff...

IMG_3325_zpsovhojj3p.jpg

The bang seat painted up and clear coated.

IMG_3327_zps82sd92td.jpg

and finished with a dry brush in a flesh tone and a flat coat.

IMG_3328_zpskksb4awe.jpg

IMG_3329_zpsrbsfuzrq.jpg

And into the pit with it!

IMG_3330_zpspumlxp5x.jpg

IMG_3331_zpsrtyk7lgl.jpg

Next was the canopy and windscreen...surprisingly there isn´t any middle seam on the canopy, but it was dirty after almost a decade on the shelve!

IMG_3332_zpsqrwbcwo1.jpg

So I cleaned the parts with some detergent and dipped them in Future/Klear

IMG_3333_zpsz4pjfoqb.jpg

There, that´s todays work....

Cheers!

Cool stuff : )    Dry brushing in flesh tone is new to me.  Did you do it on those black areas as well?  More, more!!!

Nope, the black was dry brushed with dark grey and light ghost grey. Flesh tone is good for green and brown, makes a soft and warm dry brush.

The IP is amazing! How'd you manage that minute detail painting?

Hahaha...it's just a thin film behind a PE IP, I just paint blobs of white or gray or blue behind the printed dials on the film. :D

Some progress today too :D

Put together the main wing....bit of gaps here and there :P

IMG_3334_zpspy2bmvae.jpg

I wanted all the doors closed....unlike everybody else who builds this kit :P

IMG_3335_zpsr8oak8dd.jpg

IMG_3336_zpst5dx34bd.jpg

The airbrake glued in place...

IMG_3337_zpstiw3oqsm.jpg

The IFR addon tubes.

IMG_3338_zpsy67p3ddp.jpg

IMG_3339_zpsohscr4f0.jpg

IMG_3340_zps0cfj8udp.jpg

The inside frame in the canopy in place.

IMG_3341_zpsesv65hjq.jpg

IMG_3342_zpsxdstu22j.jpg

And the main wings glued in place.

IMG_3343_zps4rocqjv1.jpg

And finally I decided to glue the windscreen into place....awaiting masks for it :D

IMG_3345_zpszrvw5mpd.jpg

That´s todays progress,

Cheers!
