Spooky 01
Love that cockpit. I think the next time I do something like this I will get the aftermarket cockpit, but since the canopy is going to be closed I figured no one looking would be able to view the great detail... I think mine looks pretty good, thank goodness for future, at least that will make the canopy nice and clear so you can see it. Ill get some pics on my thread soon! Relax Dude, RELAX !!! We realy want to see the joy Your experiencing during the build, when viewing the pic's !!! Take Your time my friend: I've started my F-1 / T-2 WIP some time ago only showing some sprue-shot's sofar. Do I care...??? NOOOOOOOO !!! Sooo, everybody's waiting for some progress ? Good, that way they will appreciate it even more once You put up some nice shot's for all of us to enjoy. "Check Six....." Spooky. P.S.: When are You finaly going to post some pic's...??? ;)
JMan
yeah i am taking my time on it. rescribed the whole plane. now just need to putty and sand down all the rough spots. it seems that the intakes gonna be a challenge, but hey thats what makes it so awesome to build models! Uhhh, my Has-issues came with recessed panel lines... "Check Six....." Spooky.
JMan
Yeah they are recessed but the sanding kind of took them off, so since I rescribed some I figured I would try my hand at rescribing the whole thing, looks pretty good. Just a few touchups here and there!

Jokkocze
Hmmm...mebbe I should pick up this thread again?.... I'm gonna have to say no. At least not now. How about waiting a month or two? I'd like to finish mine and feel happy about it for a while before you outclass it.. Edited June 16, 2011 by Jokkocze
Aigore
Time to ressurect an ancient WIP :D Just felt likle picking up this slumbered project again...perhaps not as I had orginally thought but it´s a go at least :D Checked if all the parts were to be found...looks good, seems to have misplaced the decals though, guess I´ll be doing some aftermarket shopping :D Well I picked up at the cockpit... Glued the PE at the rear bulkhead in the canopy...I really like that the inside frames are a separate part. Glued some mirrors and other PE into the inside frame. Fixed up the bang seat, a SJU-8 so it´ll be a late SLUFF ... Painted up the cockpit roughly. Made room for the cockpit in the fuselage. And finished with a pour and dump of the intake. Cheers!

Finn
Don't worry about how long it takes, i'm sure most of us have more than a few partially built kits sitting in dusty boxes. As for the intake, no need to worry about it being super clean and white as they get weathered too: Â https://catalog.archives.gov/id/6468508 Â Jari

crackerjazz
I wouldn't have seen this had you not resurrected it.    Beautiful work on the cockpit and canopy so far!  I bought a Hasegawa A-7E myself --  an old kit and the decals are yellowed -- but the parts look gorgeous!  Looking forward to your updates! Aigore
Back from my vacation in the rural Finland :D And I´ve so looked forwards to sitting in my hobby room again so I set out imediately to get on with the build! Painted the fanfront and adde da little wash And glued it to the trunk. Mmmm...looks nice! Painted the insides of the fuselage halfes. Painted the exhaust...nothing fancy since it won´t be seen much. Glued the exhaust and the intake into place in the fuselage. I even dry fitted the pit...looks god not sure if I´ll need any more weight up front....any thoughts? There ya go, Cheers! Aigore
Another glorious build session :D Been messing with the pit, it´s been washed and detail painted. The IP shroud.... The IP got instrumetation.... Glued it into place in the shroud. And the pit assembled... Glued the pit into the fuselage.. And closed the fuselage. A bit of sanding and filling ahead of me then :P Cheers!

Aigore
Itty bitty work done on the corsair today :D Ready for some filler... And on with the green stuff... The bang seat painted up and clear coated. and finished with a dry brush in a flesh tone and a flat coat. And into the pit with it! Next was the canopy and windscreen...surprisingly there isn´t any middle seam on the canopy, but it was dirty after almost a decade on the shelve! So I cleaned the parts with some detergent and dipped them in Future/Klear There, that´s todays work.... Cheers!
crackerjazz
Cool stuff : ) Â Â Dry brushing in flesh tone is new to me. Â Did you do it on those black areas as well? Â More, more!!!

Flesh tone is good for green and brown, makes a soft and warm dry brush.

Major Walt
The IP is amazing! How'd you manage that minute detail painting?
Aigore
2 hours ago, Major Walt said: The IP is amazing! How'd you manage that minute detail painting? Hahaha...it's just a thin film behind a PE IP, I just paint blobs of white or gray or blue behind the printed dials on the film. :D
Aigore
Some progress today too :D Put together the main wing....bit of gaps here and there :P I wanted all the doors closed....unlike everybody else who builds this kit :P The airbrake glued in place... The IFR addon tubes. The inside frame in the canopy in place. And the main wings glued in place. And finally I decided to glue the windscreen into place....awaiting masks for it :D That´s todays progress, Cheers!
