icekj
Enjoying your nice build so far. When I was in the Army (86-89) I was a M1A1 turret mechanic. Kick myself for not taking pictures while I was in. Brave Rifles! (3rd ACR) Ken
Randy Wise
Nice work on the "A1". I've got 9 Abrams kits in the stash (an older Tamiya M1 - 105mm is also on the way). Six of my kits are the original Dragon M1A1; one is Italeri M1A2; the second M1A2 is from Trumpeter, and the latest is the newer Dragon M1A1 AIM kit. I agree the AIM version from Dragon is beyond compare. I'll be watching your build with keen interest. I don't plan on building my AIM kit just yet. Although the older Dragon kits have been rendered almost obsolete by their newer cousins, they still build-up into nice models with some good reference material and elbow grease. I've just started a Desert Storm diorama and it'll have 2 of the classic Dragon kits in it (gotta knockdown that stash so I can make room for more AIM and SEP kits). Please keep us posted on your build progress. It'll be a long winter this year and we'll all have plenty of time to build those Abrams. Randy
