Airbusteacher
Does any one know how to make the RATO system? Would i have to scratch build this? How would i attach it if i was to build one? Uh....depends....you planning on putting it on your car? *note: There's an urban legend out there, that someone in the 1960's or 1970's put an illicitly acquired AIM-9 motor on his Impala. Whether true or not, the story makes for a hilarious read. Reference to skid marks, car going airborne, etc. I wish I knew where to get a copy of it now....seems to end up in my e-mail at least once a year. air
habu2
the JATO car story
Airbusteacher
Yup, that's it. :D What a tale. Goes right along with Cooter and Gomer using the 22L round to replace the fuse in Ford pickup. Sometimes, a story is just too good to deny that it's not true. The JATO story, when I first read it, made me laugh for weeks. The pictures in my mind were enough to convince me that it was possible. Heck I was a maintenance troop for years and I saw some really bizarre s**t...tellyawhut. ;)
