Charlie Cheetah
December '08 release, $69.99 msrp... And a ton of parts. http://www.cybermodeler.com/news/news081021a.shtml
strikeeagle801
Seventy dollars! Holeeeee crap! I waiting till I see some plastic and reviews before I get anywhere near this one! That's almost as bad as the Hasegawa kits are nowadays. Aaron
fulcrum1
$70?!?!? It better transform into starscream and cook me breakfast. Who am I kidding...I'll buy one, two if the kit turns out to be a goodie. Edited October 22, 2008 by fulcrum1
Josh1971
Take her easy there, everybody. $69.99 is MSRP, which means although it's going to still be a pricey devil, it won't be quite that much. We'll have to see what happens when it hits Sprue Bros. and others. jb
sv51macross
Umm...$70? Yews its likely to be fantastic, but seventy dollars is just a bit much for me. I'd rather buy a pair of F-15Ks for seventy bucks.
thegoodsgt
We'll probably see it in the $45-55 range from some of the Japanese mail order shops.
sukoi
Like the real thing..it's over priced, over hyped, and soon to be over here!! Edited October 23, 2008 by sukoi
richter111
Seems a bit pricey to me too. Heck I can get the latest Trumpeter 1/32 kit for twice the price, and have more fun complaining about it's inaccurcies Ric
jwest21
I can justify the price as long as what is in the box is good quality
longmc
How much would you pay if it were done by hasegawa?? Besides, Hobbylobby carries much of the academy line.
Berkut
Is this price in scale?
Chox
oh good, another Raptor kit - zzzzzz Much as I like modern military aircraft of all types, I just don't get the appeal of the Raptor - it's as dull as dishwater. No interesting versions, no interesting weapons fits, no interesting markings... and it's ugly as sin!
graves_09
I agree with Josh. the MSRP is never the actual sale price. they just boost it up so the retailers can claim they are giving you a good deal. It will probably be priced about the same as a hasegawa kit. if the accuracy lives up to their claims it will probably be worth the money. if not, you will probably see the price fall quickly. most people that would spend that much for a kit will do their homework before buying

No interesting versions, no interesting weapons fits, no interesting markings... and it's ugly as sin! I don't find the F-22 a particularly interesting subject for a model (for all the reasons you point out), but I think it's a notable aircraft in the evolution of fighter technology. For that reason I'll probably build only two (in 1/72 and 1/48) until such time that we see some variations on the paint scheme.
Eri
Its gonna cost a bomb here locally then..i was hoping they release the F-15K
mike_45
Looks like Great Models is listing it for $52.45 USD. Raptor
Waco
Like the real thing..it over priced, overhyped, and soon to be over here!!
ScottD
I'll be willing to guess that Lucky model will have it for half that price, just hope its accurate
Ghostkiller
The raptor is not a beauty IMO but glad u will get it I do not know what is going on out there all modern birds are ugly lol
tomastewart
Is nobody going to get a sneak preview of the sprues? Doesn't Eduard have the cockpit detail set done yet? Why do we not get the Aires set before it is released? Do modellers always complain? Tom

Kind of the same deal with the F-117, after you build one and paint it black you're done. Where as my Navy planes and older Air Force planes are a blast with their different variations. loftycomfort
The raptor might be ugly, but it makes up for it with an interesting 3-tone metallic grey scheme and a ton of super detailing potential with an opened weapons bay. Cheers, Terry
Bucky Katt
I'm in for a couple. My time behind the work bench has been pretty minimal over the past few months, but I've been feeling the burn to get building. Maybe it's the change in the seasons, but this annoucement has added fuel to the fire. Brian

I may be in the minority here, but I dont think the Raptor is totally ugly, and of course you can make up your own what if schemes. Maybe an Arctic Viper type aggresor scheme? Or maybe some type of scheme with different grays. I dont know. After a few hours in the old cubicle my mind runs wild. Edited October 22, 2008 by mike_45
