pookie
Hello. For some reason I like earth moving equipment. ( Caterpillar, etc) I have been looking around for a while and it seems that part of our hobby ( modeling) is dominated by die cast models. Are there plastic models for this sort of thing or a forum dedicated to it? Also what would be the best scale to start a collection in terms of selection. Thanks in advance George. Helo_Dud
Hey George, There's really not much out for palstic scaled construction equipment. I too would like to build them. The onlt two kits that come to mind are the Bulldozer and Backhoe from AMT. As to the scale I can't recall at this time. I do know they had many working part. Someday I'll get around to making my 1/35th Frontloader from scratch, as for the wheel I'll be using a die-cast for a doner. Good Luck with your search, Joe

pookie
Thank you guys. Judging by what's available on ebay die casts are pretty much the only way. I am not rich so I'll start slow and see if I find some deals and build a small collection over time. George. EDIT: I have one word. NORSCOT holly molly, I may have to sell a bunch of plane kits. Steven H. McLain
The AMT Caterpiller bulldozer and the John Deere backhoe were both in 1/25 scale. At one time the bulldozer was also sold with and on a lowboy trailer. Many moons ago in my youth. There were a lot of nice models I wish they would bring back.
