Mosquito - Tamiya FB Mk.VI

Recommended Posts

I have finally made a start on my Mosquito.

Most of the interior has been painted (the correct color this time :) )

I have the wings assembled (great fit of the parts !)

The wash looks better to the naked eye than it looks in the pictures.

Hydraulic tanks for the landing gear

I drilled out the machine guns, hopefully once painted up they will look more realistic.

I am working on the landing gear and all the detail painting now.

Hopefully I can give you an update soon.

Critic's and comment always welcome

Looking good Ted, like how you do a lot of preliminary work while the parts are still on the sprues, I don't have the self restraint to refrain from cutting the pieces free (got that habit as a kid and it just stuck with me). So far I guess we're the only ones doing Skeeters for this build.

looking forward to next updates.

Thanks Ron,

I will be looking forward to seeing your build. What scheme are you planning?

I think mine will be pretty much out of the box, I have AM for it but am chicken to use it.

Also, I am not sure how much you would be able to see after it gets closed up, so this will be a test to see what's what.

I have another Skeeter in the stash that I will probably use the AM in.

Here is an update to where my build stands.

I have completed the landing gear and majority of the cockpit.

The cockpit still requires a wash to be complete.

I used PE belts from Edward for the seats

I hope to have the fuselage completed soon

As always your comments / critic's are more than welcome

Thanks for the comments guys.

I have made some progress.

I have managed to complete the fuel tanks and bomb bay, and have closed her up. Very little filler will be required on the seams.

As I suspected, you can not seevery much of the cockpit once assembled, but the next one I build will definitely have the Edward PE set installed

I hope you like it

Hello Robert,

The wash I use is just paint thinner mixed with Model Master Burnt Umber, depending how "dirty" you want the wash, just mix in more paint.

I hope this helps.

I have a small update on my Mossie for you as well.

I have completed the major assembly of the fuselage and attached the wings, there is no need for any filler on either upper or lower joints. ;)

I have some seams to fil on the front cockpit joint but other than that it will be filler free.

I cut open the bomb bay doors in order to pose them open.

Next off to the paint booth for preshading and then paint.
