VFA-11 CVW Change?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I just scanned through latest issue of "World Airshow News" magazine

http://www.airshowmag.com/

And it has 3-4 VFA-11's in formation with -211,106 birds at NAS Oceana show.

2 of them have CVW-1 'AB' codes and one still in -3 codes.

Has there been a change?

Navy web site doesn't show it...yet!!?

Hey Navy?

TH,

Darren Roberts answered your first query of this subject on the 1st ...

VFA-11 is indeed moving over to CVW-1. I haven't heard back from anyone, but I'll pass along any info I get.

Not wanting to sound mean or anything but did you forget where you posted your question the first time ?

Been there, done that!

Yep your right,I was at a library,as I am now and seconds were counting down, and I wasn't sure if my "send" was launched before the computer went to auto reboot...!!!

Plus I forgot to subribe to the topic/forum so I couldn't remember what day I had submitted this, and gave up on looking in "General" and "Jet Modeling" for your replies, thinking it didn't get posted!!

Thanks Darren and those that follow!! :)

Jim,

VFA-11 Red Rippers moved form CVW-3 (AC) to CVW-1 (AB) to the gap in CVW-1

when VFA-86 was assigned to CVW-11. With the loss of VFA-11 to CVW-1 the

Checker Boards of VMFA-312 have joined CVW-3.

Wow, he's SUPPORTING that website? As much as I love it, I thought there were a bunch of people who pretty much openly termed that site as a serious OPSEC violation... hmm.

Yes I saw that the "Warhawks" are back in town!!

VFA-94"Mighty Shrikes" are now over in Japan (UDP)as this unit was, showing the Marines, how to bring in the New Year all proper like!!

Be interesting to see where -86 puts there new CVW-11 'NH' code, inside stabs or down the rudders?

Are they still the sole Navy VFA at that East Coast MCAS,it is Beaufort,SC right??
