JeskiM
What's your take on seeing the CE EA-6B conversion set re-appearing in a new guise ? Does anyone know if some other company or individual brought/stole the molds or will be making their own ?!? ;) I've got 2 EA-6B's in 48th scale and only one CE set.....dang! AnthonyWan
I'm willing to bet with the re-release of the kit, that someone like Wolfpack Designs in Korea is probably working on a set/sets for it. The Avi/BB pit is somewhat hard to find as well, and the kit could also use some wheelbays/electronics bays to detail it up. Gustav...where are you man!! ;)
DonSS3
Unless Dave Klaus gets back into the business, I think you can kiss CE goodbye. He stated when CE closed that he wasn't selling/loaning his molds to anyone, so he may have the molds in storage…
petebuilt
I don't know about any plans to re-release the CE set, but I think that Dave Roof was talking about doing an update set at some point in time. And, in case you were'nt aware, Royale Resin has (2) very nice sets of wheels for the 1/48 Prowler. I have the (late) R013 set, and they are flawless! http://www.royaleresin.net/index.html Edited December 10, 2008 by petebuilt
twhite80
I hear ya, I am in the same kind of bind. I got 2 Prowlers and I have some resin for 1. I have the Wingfold and a Pit on the way but it was hard to find! I am not sure whether I should save the other one and wait until some one comes up with more updates or just build it? I really want one in my collection, but I don't want to build one before we get some new decals out there or updates, maybe ICAP III updates and such...
dsmith
Yes, Dave Roof from Orion models is working on one, but I think it was going to be awhile before he was able to release it due to casting issues. And, in case you were'nt aware, Royale Resin has (2) very nice sets of wheels for the 1/48 Prowler.I have the (late) R013 set, and they are flawless! Thanks for the plug Cheers, -Doug
MoFo
It wouldn't surprise me if someone pirates/re-casts the CE parts. I'd be shocked if they were made available through legitimate channels, however. CE is gone, dead, goodbye. Accept it and move on.
JeskiM
I've accepted the fact that they are gone for good, just can't accept my stupidity that I never brought a second set before they flew the coop. I was simply wondering if anyone knew if anyone else would create a new/improved/added-on set (copy or otherwise), pirete them, etc. I may yet scratch or cast my own from my one copy. BTW, Doug. those wheels are sweet !
thegoodsgt
Wolfpack is probably your best bet. If I were interested in an EA-6B set, I'd barrage them with email!

They'd be basically flat tires all the way around if the airplane were on the boat... J

However, no one else could. Jennings has it right though. They had high pressure tires, so you can't see much compression on board the "boat".
twhite80
Harold, Maybe you should do some resin work for the prowler? Oh and by the way I am working on that Hobby Boss Mig-17 and I was going to pick up one of your pits for the next one, and it is not going together well at all! It is requiring lots of tape to hold it together while it dries! Hope the prowler is better.

I am working on the pit, but trying to fit everything as I work the resin parts, is tough. My seams keep popping.

I know of at least two people that have been working on resin for it for some time now. I have a fairly full bench right now anyway.
jwest21
What about D-molds? they are releasing some of the sets he mastered for CE. Not sure if this would be one or not
Jennings
CE is gone, dead, goodbye. Accept it and move on. I wouldn't hold my breath on that. Klaus lurks around some of the bulletin boards, and recently posted on the Yahoo "walk around" group. He's made (public) noises about bringing back "Meteor Publications", and knowing his (gi-friggin-NORMOUS) ego, it wouldn't at all surprise me for him to try to make a reappearance. He's made threats against the owner of the 1/32 F-16XL masters for modifying and reissuing the kit (even though it wasn't Klaus' to start with). So no, knowing Klaus, it wouldn't surprise me at all to see him pop back up at some point. Given what's transpired however, anyone who gives him money gets what they deserve... Rick in Maine
Yee-hah! Thanks, Gustav. I think you'll sell a bunch of those EA-6B update sets. We've needed someone to throw us a life saver like this for a long time. Rick in Maine
