geedog
I'm currently building a Duster that I'd like to finish as a Nam era machine. My searching has shown every shade of green in the book. I know photos are deceptive and so is the internet, so if any one has some idea as to the color, I would be humbly in your debt. Thanks in advance............
k5ikl
Our national guard unit (NM) had M-42 Dusters during the Vietnam war and they were a dark green pretty close to FS-34079 Dark Green. Of course some what faded due to the southern NM hot and dry climate. HTH. Sorry, no pictures. Jerry
geedog
Jerry, Thanks for the response. That FS # was just what I was looking for! From that I can get started on the paint scheme. Again, many Thanks!!
Huey Gunner
Not trying to be the devil's advocate here. I would use olive drab FS34087. Here are 2 armor modeling sights you can check out: Military Modeler Missing-Lynx
HeavyArty
For pre to early Vietnam timeframe, OD is correct. For later and post Vietnam, the Dark Green is correct.
geedog
Thanks for that info Arty. Now to decide on when during the conflict I want to paint it. Here's a shot of my progress so far. Still have a long way to go. And to Gunner .... Thanks for the links, very informative stuff there.
