Resin and PE

Recommended Posts

A question to the European readers, as they might know the brand name of the glue...

Did anybody ever try PATTEX from the HENKEL company for glueing PE and Resin parts together?

At work, we glue EPDM seals (a rubber- like material) on alloy steel to avoid slipping away of the EPDM when laying filter- plates on it.

So, my idea is, when these two materials can be glued with PATTEX and stick together, why not glueing PE and Resin parts together, or the two materials with themselves?

Any experience with that?

Thomas,

Occasionnally I use Patex Sekundenkleber 'Slalom' (liquid CA) for PE or resin. Most of the time however, I prefer UHU super glue (gel CA).

Cheers,

Usually I use CA too, but I thought of using PATEX instead, as it

1. is much cheaper, (100 gr. cost as much as 2- 5 gr of CA),

2. has a long time period to correct mistakes,

and 3. the adhesion of the glued parts is much higher than CA, when it´s dried.
