Antoine
I was thinking since already many month to have a go at plastic ships, or submarine. First step this morning, while at was at Euromaquette in Paris, to buy some paint, when i came across this box: The sprues: The giant suppository: The decals: The instruction sheet: That's all. I hope it could be useful.

Antoine
Why not? Any advice on the hull's color? Revell as usual is quite evasive....

johnsan
The boxart looks like basic submarine black. I'd start from there.
Antoine
Bump!!! Still in my "finish what's been already started": Most of the big parts are glued. I keep aside the screw, periscope and antennaes, to be painted appart, and glued after the hull is painted. There are many small pieces, that I'll glue latter, after a mr surfacer/sanding sessions. This way I'll not broke anything, and they'll be glued before the paint so as to make them stronger.
Antoine
Preparing for sanding. A thin coat of mr surfacer 500, and some putty at certain place more in need of filler.
Antoine
In the end, I've found the courage to start sanding. Micromesh was used, with good result. Now with the paint. I've made a test with the primer, adding some green to brown base. I like it, but I don't think its a good enough match. More of it later. Pre-shading, with flat black. Did it only on the main structure, as after all the sub is in Braille scale.
