Hello here is my work in progress for the GB.

As anticipated I'm going to make an Airbus A320 with the Alitalia colours.

The kit is the Revell in scale 1:144 in the Condor scheme taht have the right type of engines for the Alitalia verison, the decals are made by F-DCAL.

As first step I filled the fuselage windows with cyanoacrilate glue, later I put together the wing parts and winglets.

For now is all, soon new updates

Regards

Roberto

Alitalia haven't changed their paint scheme in years, decades maybe. Still, the livery looks contemporary and sharp. This will be nice when done. Hopefully you can finish it before Alitalia comes under the "Gone But Not Forgotten" category. :worship:

They have, actually. An upadated version of this scheme, with the cheatline below the windows.

BTW, the wing on this (and all other Revell A32X kits) is for the A321. There are some extra little flap canoes, and a line to fill. Not too hard though.

I did this little bit of work on my A319 today. In these pics I've removed one side's canoes, but not the other. I've not filled the line, but you should be able to work out where to fill. (if not, then www.airliners.net and www.jetphotos.net are valuable resources.)

Hello

To DC10Oiller: if I remember well the Alitalia paint scheme was the same since 1969, but as said "vc-10" since 2 years this scheme is changing with the cheatline below the windows, this scheme modification will be apply when the airplane will have the overhault maintenance. Honestly I dont like so much the new scheme.

On 15 January will debut the new Alitalia that is the merge of the old "Alitalia" with "Air One" and it will be an European parthner with 25% of the ownership, it should be "Air France" but is still not yet confirmed.

To vc-10 and David: Thanks to both for your information about the wings, I have seen in several photos from Airliners.net these differences from the A319, A320 and A321 wings, I will follows your suggestions.

Regards

Roberto

Ciao Roberto

I've seen an Airbus with the "new" paint scheme at LHR and I agree it doesn't look that great. The oversized A on the tail looks wrong; way out of proportion. Still, I do like the version your doing. Call it nostalgia I guess.
