I finished another Tomcat.

Here is something I do not normally do. In progress shots. Won't be a huge amount but there will be some.

These are 1/48 Hasegawa F-14Ds. VF decals and done up as VF-31 AJ-101 and 111.

Went back to add these shims for tonight. Should be rock hard for my next day off. If I get all the overtime I need that will not be till next weekend.

These shims are there to aid in lining up the intake trunks. Bout' the only add on aprt from the zoom set in the cockpits that I intend on using for these builds.

As you see they are real simple. Spue, glued in place.

Kay, its almost 5am and I am getting tired. Later.

Might borrow the idea for the 1/72 Hase F-14 I currently build. :)

I know, its weird but I almost always build in the order the instructions tell me too. I just like the plane to sit upright as opposed to risk messing it up sitting on wet paint.

Landing gear doors should be dry by now, so I am going to put them on now.

I figure I should be able to start the detail stuff on Saturday or Sunday.

good little production runn (i like it), night shifts are good for that !

did you hand (paintprush) do the pre-shading, rather than the cassums created with an airbrush ? - if so, does this give a less regular finnish ?

If I want tighter lines I hand brush. Really it depends....the other night I did not feel like cleaning the airbrush, so hand painted.

Last night of course the main colours were airbrushed. Off to work tonight so they will sit for a couple days to dry.
