florent67
Hi all As the sun was not in the sky this week-end, I decided to spend main of my free time on a non quite interesting task : the catwalk. A first look of what the plastic parts look like : The first step consits in cuting with precision the plastic as a part of them will have to be kept Sanding, cyano and many patience later... The photoetch catwalk are now glued and the stairs are now installed... This operation takes a lot of time, is not quite exciting but I have to recognize that it's more convincing than the orignal parts. Florent
florent67
Hi all I spent main of my free time of last week working on photoetch. Cutting, removing, gluing, installing...due to the size of this kit, be sure that it will keep you busy for a 'few' hours. This task is far no be exciting but I think that the results worth it. I bought tractors from Goumfy Models. The detail level is amazing at this scale. And 2 global views of the aircraft carrier Hope you like it. richter111
It is looking great, my first real aircraft carrier build was the Enterprise, and I did no where near the justice you are doing to this one! RIc

VA-115EFR
Thought I saw further progress in the Model Warships website a while ago with hangar bay work that was absolutely incredible!!! If you can find it there check it out!
Girolamo LORUSSO
Hello, nice job. Can you tell me which set of detail you used, and above all the documentation? I would like to build one myself one day, but especially to the sections of bridge accurate to 1/48 scale for my planes. thanks
florent67
ouppssss. It makes 3 years that I didn't post any update. It makes also 2 years that I stopped model kits. New job, father for the first time, big big works in the house. I'm working now on my future model kit room . It should be operational in the summer. That's funny because I removed dust on the Nimitz last week. Photoetch kits are Gold Medal Model. Figurines (3D - not flat photoetch), such as tractor are from Goumfy Model (or something like this). Photoetch for planes is from Tomsomething. I will check this week end. Hope that those informations will be helpful. Florent Edited May 3, 2012 by florent67
Cyrus Tan
ouppssss. It makes 3 years that I didn't post any update. It makes also 2 years that I stopped model kits. New job, father for the first time, big big works in the house. I'm working now on my future model kit room . It should be operational in the summer. That's funny because I removed dust on the Nimitz last week. I'm look forward to your progress Florent. I completely understand. Sometimes you need a long break. Building a super detailed CVN in 1/350 is a lot of work and can easily burn you out (at least the way I want to build my mine ^_^ ). I made some progress since my last update 5 yrs ago but then I stopped due to lack of time & motivation. However, I recently opened the Nimitz box to review my work and have found a renewed interest in the project so I plan to continue my build very soon.
