Hallo to all...

To us in Czech republic we have "a little company of What if maniacs"....At first we make planes from many countries in Czech or Czechoslovak marking...

Our What if have some parallel lines....At first is World War II,in their history the Czechoslovakia will fight against Nazi Germany....At second is history, where the Communist party will be not a winner after WW II and demokracy stay in Czechoslovakia and Czechoslovakia with Allies from west will be fight against communists in Poland,Russia and other eastern countries....In third the communist party will be winner in Czechoslovakia after WW II like in really history and fight against the "bad western imperialists" all the time up today.....

Here is our "What if gallery ".... http://modelforum.cz/viewforum.php?f=254

Panther,

Welcome aboard, bud!

Cool site! I ecspecially like the B-50 in Czech markings. Are you going to join our little Group Build?

I would be interested to see what you could come up with.

How about an F-106 or F-102 in one of those cool Czech camo schemes.......

Cheers, Ian

PantherG, what a great addition to the world of What-if! Aircraft look naturally good in the Czech markings (almost as good as in Canadian markings! :) ) and the linked site has some really well done and very imaginative aircraft builds. It's nice to know the spirit of "What-If" is alive and well in the world.

Thanks for the translation of the B-50 story, your english is far far better than my Czech!

Well, I finished my next What-if model. With this MiG-25 escaped soviet pilot Alexander Konstantivovith Chernyenko 7th August 1970 from SSSR to Czechoslovakia. The plane was repainted and tested in VTLÚ (Airforce technical center) and after that returned to SSSR. The inscription on left side means "Thank you". It was written by unknown kidder a night before returning to SSSR.

I used Hasegawa 1/72 kit.

I have to wonder... If the Czechoslovaks have a navy... Exactly Where are the ports? I'm assuming they're Somewhere on the Mediterranean, as it's most logical, and I'm guessing they're what most of us might know as Yugoslav ports? I wouldn't mind seeing the geography of that thought, I don't remember Czechoslovakia having any waterfront property - Austria, Yugoslavia and Italy are kind of in the way.

Just kinda wondering there.

Let´s go...I use online translating.....briefly history

So ... In 1948 the Communist coup failed .... so-called democratic forces to remain in power. Communists, however, managed to win elections in France in 1949. This makes a lot of prominent French personalities emigrated to Czechoslovakia (among other renowned designer Marcel Bloch - d'Assault). Thanks to the rapid recovery with MS. economy after the war (Marshall Plan) and the Czech assist in the creation of the State of Israel to Czechoslovakia soon became involved in the Middle East (and then economically and militarily). Among other things, as Czechoslovakia was given the mandate from the UN to manage the Suez Canal area. Later, but also hit the ambitions of the French Union of Socialist Republics. Over time there has been many struggles over wide areas the African continent, in which the administration of former Czechoslovakia passed a majority of French colonies. In 1954 the Egyptian government attempted to take over Suez river (with a silent through France). Czechoslovakia became immediately defensive struggle, but there was no appropriate technology. It came option but to lease and later purchase the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga with complete airplane park , that is, F-4U-4 Corsair, TBF Avenger ... It was buy a smaller quantity of F-51D / K Mustang for the direct defense of the area ... . Negotiations on other technology, such as maritime patrol aircraft, and especially with the turbojet-powered airplanes quickly started, as well as the domestic production base ....

So short extract from "History ČSR" 15th edition from 2058

I'm understanding part of it, after a little more reading through on that. You didn't quite explain if the Czechs in this situation actually have a port on Mainland Europe, which was my original question. But I'm understanding this to mean that the Suez area ports were under Czech administration, and with the African conflicts, the Czechs picked up a lot of the old French colonial turf, so they would have access to those mediteranean ports.

I was just trying to figure out if Czechoslovakia, in your situation, had a Mainland port.

Excuse me,please....

The main port of Czechoslovakian Navy was a Boka Kotorska in Yugoslavia. This port was rented before WW II....But the Navy had a second main port on Cyprus in cooperation wit the UK Navy...

Later come from UK more naval planes, like Buccaneers,Sea Vixens,Gannets....Yes,from US come navy jets too....F-9F Panthers/Cougars,later Tomcats and Hornets too....
