PantherG
Hallo,Ian I´m sorry, but I have some advice for You: to use masks from masking tape and spraying this marking, or making with identical methode Your own decals... Here I have some scans from one old czech book for plastic modellers... Cheers and Good luck,PantherG
imatt88
Panther, Believe it or not, in all the years I've been building, I have never painted markings like that. I've always found it to be a bit intimidating, so I never did it. I'll figure something out..... Cheers, Ian
Sebastijan
imatt gimme a couple of days and I'll check my stash if I can find something for you...
imatt88
Sebastijan, OK, thanks My orginal plans was to use a Hasegawa 1/72nd scale F-102, but the decals I have are no good. My next plan of attack is to dust off one of my Revellogram 1/48th F-102s, if I can get Czech markings that will fit a 48th jet. Then, I have to match the paints according to PantherGs scheme,.... Then, I can start the build...... Cheers, Ian
PantherG
Hallo,Ian The size of marking do not have strictly followed. Sometimes their size changed. Use marking, where do You have. All is only "What if",not stricktly true history... Cheers,PantherG
imatt88
Panther, You know, you're right..it is only a what if. I'll see if I can find something that willl work :) Cheers, Ian

PantherG
Hallo to all... The Hurricane from Olda Homola is from a pre-war delivery in Czechoslovakia. The aircraft bears the camouflage and marking the beginning of the war with Nazi Germans. This model isvery beautiful....I saw him once with my own eyes. PantherG
Hollo,Ian I look forward to progress in the construction of Perun. I think you can still use the code "EP-01", there is from the commanders machine. On the real this code was used on personal MiG-17F of Czechoslovak Air Force gen.Jozef Kúkel. Now,here ( http://modelforum.cz/viewtopic.php?f=251&a...a&start=120 ) is a few pictures from the presentation of our group of "What if" in the exhibition "Pardubický Kitsaloon". But therawas more and more "classical" kits and dioramas....some of them was WERY nice.....later a give here a link for pics from this pleasant exhibition... superhornet1015
Hey Panther, Dude I like the drawing that you did of the F-18. Think you can put some up of the P-40 or the F-105? I have some of those kits and might have to do one in Czech markings. Welcome Aboard. Pete
PantherG
Hallo,Pete I have one drawing on the"czech" F-105D, which I created in August 2008. The story will be maybe for the Americans "politically incorrect" ( :) ), but tehere was such a time. "Thud in slavery" In the mid-sixties USAF deployed to Europe the test flight which was armed with airplanes Republic F-105 D Thunderchief to test the conditions of "the European battlefield". Airplanes were also used to provocations along the border countries of the Warsaw Pact, especially Czechoslovakia .... We succeeded, however, the czechoslovak intelligence escapade. In group of Thunderchief pilots was one, which was the son of emigrants from Bohemia. The pilot (his name is still classified) was contacted and obtained for the action, when one of the flights overflown challenge to Czechoslovakia and landed at the airport in Plzeň - LÃÂně. Officially this was a "navigational error". The pilot asked for asylum, which he was immediately awarded with a new identity. The aircraft was Fly to Prague for the tests in VZLÚ(Aeronautical test center.) Then it was applied Czechosovak camouflage and the airplane was overflight at Air Foce base in Pardubice, where he also operated in the newly created flight of so-called "Aggressors". In Czechoslovakian Air force machine immediately gained the nickname "Thunder-boss", the airport staff but was known more like "Thunder thing", thanks to its characteristics and requirements of the operation and the length of the airport area. About P-40:one of us,another "Whif crazyman" write stories about foreigner volunteers in Czechoslovak Air Force of time fighting against the Nazis. Is there a P-40B, but the story is somewhat longer. My translation skills are very weak. Story and pictures supplied later. Cheers,PantherG
superhornet1015
Hey Panther, :) That looked awesome brother. I reckon I'll have to do one of my 105's in that scheme. You wouldn't happen to know if there are actual photo's of that plane would you? Is the under side of the 105 a light ghost gray or natural metal? Can't wait to see what the P-40 is going to look like. <_< Thanks,Pete
imatt88
Panther, Your What-if SIG table had some really cool stuff! The flying wing bomber done in blue with the tiger stripes is SWEET! I still love the B-50, that one is real cool. I'll keep you posted on my progress with the Perun, BTW, your english is a million times better than my Czech Cheers, Ian

PantherG
Hallo to all To Pete: undersides on "Thud" are in light blue-gray.....on left lower corner ares Humbrol colors. For other colors you must find a converter table. To Ian: many thanks for Your compliament....But....I use aonline converter/translator First part of story to B-50D is translated from one bud.But under siurfaces are coolest, then top.Three bombs "PC-1400" (known also like "Fritz X) plus one 3000 pounds bomb in rear bomb bay. This "flying-wing" is not a bomber, but originally Horten Ho-IX "Nightfighter" - Double-seated version (never really built) of WW II flying wing fighter. This model were built of our "What if Queen" Monika... imatt88
Panther, I like the idea of choppers as well. Is there any schemes for the AH-64 Apache? I was wondering, is there a way to translate Czech into English to access your modeling site? It looks like you have some real interesting stuff there, but I can't read any of it. How does this translator work? Cheers, Ian
