BU_GRAD_07
Is this a re-package of an older kit? I'm wanting to build an F-4G... not sure if I want to invest the $110+ for the Tamiya F-4E kit right now.... Could the F-4F be converted pretty easy to a G? Any ideas on what it would take to get F-4G out of an F-4F? Does this model have raised panel lines? And how is the part fits? Thanks, David

All they did was slab in a new decal-sheet. HOWEVER, this so-called re-issue has to be regarded as the "new-tool / hi-end" line of Rog !!!!! The kit comes with engraved panel-lines and can be build into a fairly descent Phantom. Never-the-less, the kit has some shape-issue's: * vertical fin-tip is slightly off * radome is too "pointy" * appearently the bird's sit's just a tad too high on it's wheel's (1 mm) Overall general detail is good, build is fairly easy & part's won't fight You during the build. Conversion F-4F into F-4G; * re-shape the "gun-muzzle" * add various antenna * add cylindrical fairing on top of the vertical fin * add "hinge-bulges" underneath the wing * replace/modify the horizontal stab's for/into slotted type * modify instrument-panel's (* add a typical "wild-weasel" load-out) "Personal verdict": Excellent kit for a fraction of the Tamiya-price !!! "Check Six....." Spooky.
johnnymac
linky I used the Revell F-4E kit, but the F-4F is pretty much the same kit. Edited February 18, 2009 by johnnymac
silverkite211
You'll need to use the F-4E kit, it has slotted stabilators, F-4Fs have solid stabilators.
