F4DPhantomII
I've heard Model Master FS 34087 is more suited to WWII aircraft rather than armor. But what about Model Master ANA 613? What I am looking for is a good WWII US armor color.Thanks.
HeavyArty
You have it backwards. The ANA# is the WWII aircraft color. The FS# is good for WWII vehicles.

jhe56
Ok thanks. Just to expand a bit -- the Model Master FS 34087 (or the Testor's little bottle OD, which is pretty much the same color), from everything I have heard from folks that have researched this extensively (Steve Zaloga for one) is a pretty close match for the WWII armor color when fading and scale effect are taken into account. Factory fresh, 1-1 scale OD was almost dead on for Tamiya OD (the darker shade, not the green one) but that will look much too dark in 1/35. It faded a bit toward yellow, which in 1/35 makes it pretty close to MM 34087. However, considering that this is representative of the faded color, I generally tone down what comes out of the bottle/rattle can with an even but heavy application of dullcoat or (even better) Floquil dust before weathering. `
