Model master Olive Drabs

Recommended Posts

Ok thanks.

Just to expand a bit -- the Model Master FS 34087 (or the Testor's little bottle OD, which is pretty much the same color), from everything I have heard from folks that have researched this extensively (Steve Zaloga for one) is a pretty close match for the WWII armor color when fading and scale effect are taken into account. Factory fresh, 1-1 scale OD was almost dead on for Tamiya OD (the darker shade, not the green one) but that will look much too dark in 1/35. It faded a bit toward yellow, which in 1/35 makes it pretty close to MM 34087. However, considering that this is representative of the faded color, I generally tone down what comes out of the bottle/rattle can with an even but heavy application of dullcoat or (even better) Floquil dust before weathering. `
