JeskiM
All, I am building this test Hornet from VX-4 in 1/48th scale: I love fully loaded planes; and this one fits the bill nicely. I am stealing the decals from the HobbyBoss FA-18A kit. I will need to scratch the adapter that holds the launching rails to the pylons for the AIM-120's....I also need to source the launching rails and missiles from other kits. For now I have started on the cockpit and a few other sub-assemblies, like the nose cone. Here are the pics: - Matt Edited February 24, 2009 by JeskiM

Aggressor Supporter
This should be a great looking Hornet with all those AMRAAMs on it. Watching with interest.
ChernayaAkula
Cool subject Seems some of the AMRAAMs were live rounds while some weren't. Interesting. "I wish I had 8 AMRAAMs like the eagle I'd be having so much fun it'd be illegal Like a guy who ain't been laid for months I'd shoot those f**kers all at once I wish I had 8 AMRAAMs like the eagle." Netz
Where did you scrounge up all the 129 rails??? Curt
Matt Shropshire
Matt, Just noticed something in your pics. To make your build a -18C you need to remove the antennas located on the bottom of the engine intakes, near the chaff/flare bucket. The one thing about all Hasegawa Legacy Hornet kits, is they are -18As at heart with the extra -18C sprue added in the box.
JeskiM
Matt, Thanks for the catch, it's not too late as I prob. was not going ot get paint down till the weekend anyways....gives me something to do tonite, along with some scratch building for another build. Netz, The rails are courtesy of WolfPack.....my initial plan was to steal from a bunch of my F-16 kits....then I became aware that WolfPack had them, so I changed my plans. The AIM-120's are coming from a buynch of my F-16 kits tho. - Matt

JeskiM
OK, the kit will be done on time....but just barely. I was on vacation, and I took the kit with me in the hopes of finishing it .............. but I forgot a sprue so it set me back slightly. I'll have more pics tomorrow. - Matt
