Vesper
I am wondering if some kind of heavy helo, with dozens of mini guns mounted on both sides, to be used as an aerial gun platform, firepower support etc. Kinda a AC-130 with rotors Back in 'Nam the Army did up a few CH-47s with miniguns out the wazoo & rocket pods. Kestrell, You're skidded DBack looks similar to an idea I had for a scout/light attack helo in lieu of the Kiowa Warrior, think you could alter the drawing by replacing the Longbow radar with a mast mounted sight? Kestrell
Thanks for the comments guys. I like the idea of a scout, so here it is. I also changed the cannon to a minigun and grenade launcher.
ChernayaAkula
Speaking of scouts... Here's an Apache Scout I made when the ARH programme turned belly-up.
Keith Diamond
wasn't there another another Whif thread? Found it: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....p;#entry1425655
Kestrell
Hey Moritz, love your scout Apache. Messed around with the Diamondback a little. Added a fenestron tail rotor.
BrittMac
Hey Moritz, love your scout Apache. Messed around with the Diamondback a little. Added a fenestron tail rotor. Interesting. This one is my favorite of the Cobra-esq Whifs thus far. And I may build something similar to it someday, because it gave me a nice idea. Of course, it will be a "someday" thing. Kestrell
Hi BritMac, Glad you like this one. I added the fenestron tail rotor because it should be a little more quiet. This one is also my favourite so far and might be built aswell. Please share some pics of yours, when you start building it "some day". Cheers

Kestrell
Hi all, its been rather quiet here lately? I've done some artwork on one of my old sci-fi designs. Hope you like it. :)
Loach Driver
Hi Kestrell, can you tell us what artwork software you use to make your drawings? Is it easy to learn how to use? It looks very interesting. Thanks. LD.

It looks very interesting. Thanks.LD. Hi LD. I taught myself to use Corel Draw 11. Its tricky in the beginning, figuring out which tools do what. Now I hardly ever use more than 5 or 6 of them. Just play around with it. "Building" it in layers is important. I always draw the outline first, and then I add intakes etc. to allow individual item shading. Shading and colours only works if you closed/joined the start and end of a line. Cheers

ed_s
I'm not sure if this counts as a helicopter or not. These are some pics of a 1/72 Dragon Ka-50 that I converted into a what-if tiltrotor and put a winter camo on. Ed
Pep
Not mine but i guess it fits the topic this was at the cocoa beach regionals
ChernayaAkula
^ Whoa! Cool! Is that a 1/48 AH-1 cockpit on a 1/72 V-22 fuselage?
BrittMac
^ Whoa! Cool! ;) Is that a 1/48 AH-1 cockpit on a 1/72 V-22 fuselage? Looks that way. Also has the Apache's optics. Odd combo for sure, but look interesting. I really like the KA-50 tiltrotor as well. Nice job on that!
