Very cool! What are the white lines on the deck for? Just to the right of the Corsair's nose wheel.

Chris

Those lines are used by the Flight Deck Directors as a visual cue to aid proper alignment of the airplane centerline with the catapult track. Each one serves a different aircraft, if the plane is taxiing on top of one of them it's ok.

Awesome! Sweet diorama!

Quick Q, aircraft that were not wild weasels; the F-4G, F-16CJ, could an aircraft like the A-7 find SAMs and independently use the HARM or did it need another aircraft to find the radar and designate targets?

AFAIK, A-7s were wired to fire HARMs and designated targets for them using the HARMs' own sensors. Like you said, they have no dedicated gear for SEAD, but how much that handicaps them in fulfilling that role I don't know.

Thanks everyone for your compliments!

Glad you used a Forrestal aircraft. The FID was my home for 3 1/2 years back in the 70's. Now I know how I'm gonna build my next A7E.

When you do so, if you need deck plans, or maybe the catapult track measures etc. feel free to mail me.
