haneto
INCREDIBLE stuff! I hope my 1/72 version will be half as good as yours. Another advice:why not put some stencil decal in the goods? There's no 1/32 Russian missile decal available in the market. My 2 cents, Yufei

There's no 1/32 Russian missile decal available in the market. My 2 cents, Yufei Hi, Yufei! Nice to hearing from you! Your 1/72 builds are very nice, all your builds in 1/72 look like larger scaled models. As for the stencils, it would be nice to find good ones among the aftermarket stuff. Maybe Two Bobs or Linden Hills...some day... Cheers! Alexander. :D
Zactoman
Another advice:why not put some stencil decal in the goods? There's no 1/32 Russian missile decal available in the market. Yufei Hi Yufei!I would like to include decals but I think that might really drive the price up. Unless somebody can recommend a good decal producer that does small quantities for a reasonable price? There are decals available though. Both the Trumpeter and Revell Germany kits include missile decals in their MiG-29 kits. Does the Trumpeter MiG-21 kit include missile decals for the R-60 as well? Begemot Decals has a full stencil set for the MiG-21 which includes missile stencils including those for the R-60. They also have a full stencil set for the Su-27 which has decals for the Archer and Alamo missiles and they are currently developing a full stencil set for the MiG-29 which (I assume) will have missile decals as well (Kotey?). I just started a thread regarding my temporary closing of Zactomodels due to my air compressor self-destructing: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....howtopic=182452 :) This is a bummer as I was just preparing to release the R-60... I do have 8 pair in stock. If anybody is interested you can send me an e-mail to Zactoman@Zactomodels.com and I will send a Paypal invoice for you to purchase a set. The price will be $14 per pair + S&H ($2.50-U.S.,Mex.,Can. or $4.00 International). Because I only have 8 in stock for now please limit your request to one pair per customer. Each pair will include parts for two missiles plus an extra sprue of 4 fins for each of the two small fin sizes (They are very small and the carpet monster craves them). :)

JasonB
Begemot Decals has a full stencil set for the MiG-21 which includes missile stencils including those for the R-60. But we need the Aphid launch rails for the Mig-21, none are in the kit that would be applicable, especially the twin rail launcher.
Zactoman
But we need the Aphid launch rails for the Mig-21, none are in the kit that would be applicable, especially the twin rail launcher.Where can I find good reference for the launchers?Anyone? Because I only have 8 in stock for now please limit your request to one pair per customer. BTW, for those that want to order the R-60 set now that I'm limiting to one set, if you want to order additional sets in the future I'll waive the future S&H charges on the additional future orders. haneto
Thanks a lot for the info,Chris and Alexander. I didn't realize that Begemot did release the Su-27 stencil decal also in 1/32 version. Now problem solved! Waiting for the formal releasing of these missiles. (Good things come to man who waits.) Abouth the "twin launcher",I think it should be APU-60-2? I also suffered a lot with searching references for the pylon because there're only real thing pictures but no plans when I built my MiG-31. Any one can help? BTW,Chris/Alexander,any plan to make wingtip "Sorbtsya" ECM pod? Cheers, Yufei

Can't say on the "twin-launcher" but as for ECM pod, I can say it would be easy-to-master (having nice referrences in hand) but I'm not sure it would be as popular as other Flanker ordnance. Actually, I didn't plan to master the pod, maybe Chris? Hey, Chris, what you say? Cheers! Alexander.

Zactoman
Alexander was kind enough to wait for his castings of the R-60 so that I'd have more to offer for sale so a few sets are still available! (I sent him one set now anyway so he could fondle the resin! :P ) APU-60-2 drawThank you for posting that drawing I've also just ordered a few books on the MiG-21 including the Squadron walkaround part 2 which I understand has some photos of the launchers. BTW,Chris/Alexander,any plan to make wingtip "Sorbtsya" ECM pod? It's been on my list for quite a while now but I just haven't made the time to do it. We'll see what the coming days bring since I can't cast parts for now...

modelkitfan
APU-60-2 draw About APU-60-2 launcher, does MiG-23 use the same thing? I found this draw on internet for MiG-23's armament from 4+ publication, which has 3-view draw for that launcher http://www.mycity.rs/uploads/18848_6535175...je%20Mig-23.png
haneto
Great to hear that,Chris/Alexander! “Sorbtsya†is a must-have item on many updated Flanker such as PLA Navy Su-30MKK,so it would be really nice if it’s available. BTW,I bought myself one set from Armory but it seems the tips of the pod are too pointed. Well, picture just for your inspiration. Cheers, Yufei

Yes, the image of item you've posted shows really incorrect ends of the pod. The real thing has more bulbous ends. The image is not too tempting but thank you for sharing. BTW, some close-ups of the real item would be welcome. Cheers! Alexander.
haneto
Hi,Alexander I've got some pictures of the Sorbtsya, but by Google search I found some interesting 3D photos. Military Visualizations: Portfolio: Weapons: Sorbtsya Hope that will help. Cheers, Yufei
Zactoman
I've got some pictures of the Sorbtsya, but by Google search I found some interesting 3D photos.Military Visualizations: Portfolio: Weapons: Sorbtsya Thanks for posting the link Yufei, but it doesn't look like a very accurate representation of the pod. It doesn't even include the mounting assembly and shows the conduits 90 degrees apart instead of 180. Flankermans' Su-33 Walkaround has the best photos of the pods I've seen but I can't find a link for the site, only a few pictures. Here's one: Ken, what's up with your Flanker site? It's been down for too long and is such a valuable resource! Su-27UB canopy?I'd like to do this project but I don't have a big enough piece of RENShape to make the pattern and buying a whole board is more than I can afford at this time. I am checking out a few sources to see if I can buy some smaller pieces. Some day... I still have a few R-60s in stock!
