Looking for photos of F-16A 79.359 from 388 TFS Bomb Comp 1981 Scotlan

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I received some cheap decals that have the above scheme plus another aircraft F-16A 81.757 50th TFW Gunsmoke 1983.

The instructions are not very clear and I would like to see colour photograghs or profiles if any exists please. If anyone can help with information that would be appreciated.

Thanks

Tony

If is the one with the check board on wingtips there it was a picture somewhere on F-16.net or on Airliners.

Decals instructions says something like this?

F-16A 79-359 #1 388th TFW

Tactical Bomb Competition 1981 (Scotland)

Standard Low Visibility Paint Scheme

Paint Lower Wings FS 36118 (where checkers will be)

When the aircraft arrived in Scotland the white #1 was added to the tail and the checkers on the wing tip became white and black

If you prefer this version paint wing tips white before decaling

So I guess, when the aircraft was in the States had the plain check board and the big'n'black 1,after the trip becamed more lively. That is :deadhorse1:

I believe that all of the seven F-16s from the 388th had special markings on the top and bottom of their outer wing panels besides the large black stylized numerals on their rudders.  These wing markings consisted of black bands with an unpainted shape that showed the grey camo colour underneath.

1.  Black checkers

2. Black band (solid)

3. Black band with clear wedge up the center

4. Black band with clear circle
