Albert Moore
Ken, Thanks for sharing the link. That is going to take some getting used to. If anything hopefully some decals will come out for the Selfridge Hawgs and I'll have some motivation to finish the A-10 I started moons ago. Cheers, Alby
Ken Middleton
Alby - no problem. I am interested to see if they do any billboard style jets
bdt13
Ken- Thanks for bringing us this. The A-10 is not usually a colorful bird, but this takes it down a notch. Could they at least put on a colored fin cap? I think this unit is red, or I remember seeing some red on the Trident from the old F-16s. :) Ben
Jennings
Thanks for posting that Ken. Pretty humdrum markings (predictably). I wish the 171st would paint up a tanker in yellow & black chevrons & checkerboards! J
Ken Middleton
you're welcome Jennings - here are a couple more http://www.127wg.ang.af.mil/shared/media/p...F-3191K-142.jpg http://www.127wg.ang.af.mil/shared/media/p...F-3191K-020.jpg those yellow/black markings would look good on a tanker
Jonathan_Lotton
GAAAAAAKKKK No thank you, Selfridge, go back and make some markings with a little less suck in them. Thanks for the pics tho.
F106A
Geez! I thought tanker/airlift markings sucked! Talk about "coitus interruptus". Us active duty guys always talk about how neat the guard and reserve markings are but this is ridiculous. Has the active duty "anti-cool" markings attitude reached these guys? Kevan Vogler
Nothing to write home about in those markings I'm afraid.
Aggressor Supporter
Enjoyed the links Ken. Seems like more A-10 units are putting markings on those big engines which is good to see. Nothing to write home about in those markings I'm afraid. I think it is a good step in the right direction. For the longest time, A-10s didn't even have markings on those big engines at all which to me they should take advantage of for moral and unit pride purposes.
Waltz41
I heard a rumor that they might make a more 'colorful' ship in the future......so we'll see. I do like the fact that they kind of honored Battle Creek by keeping the tail with the same design.
Ken Middleton
from what I can see in the pics and video below, only one jet has been marked, and in fact, at least one still wears Battle Creek markings http://www.127wg.ang.af.mil/shared/media/d...-090503-015.wmv 80-0258 / 81-0996 / 81-0998 / 81-0975

As of Monday, most jets on the line still sported Battle Creek markings, with a few plain tails present, as well. Jake
