Drew T.
I just got a Badger 150 and noticed on Badger's website that they sell a crown regulator (51033 to 51055, fine, reg., heavy) that will fit on this airbrush and replaces the regular crown. Its supposed to keep the nozzle from clogging when spraying arcylics. I don't spray arcylic paint much, but I do use Future for glossing and Polly Scale for a flat finish. Does this crown do that good of a job with not clogging with arcylics? I had this problem with my old Aztek, although I never used their nozzles designed for arcylics. Thanks for the help! DangerAtom
That's not what it's for Drew. The crown cap is one piece and fits all three tips. It's used to keep down paint spatter when shooting up close and tight. Paint builds up easily on the regular cap and drops will occasionally fall into the air stream and onto your model. The crown cap is a lot less likely to get a paint buildup, so no spatter. It has nothing to do with clogging the spray tip.
Drew T.
Ah.. Thanks! I didn't know that. Maybe I'll try using an acrylic retarder to keep the tip from clogging. Thanks again!
