Azgaron
Here's what I'm about to start with! Looks pretty nice I think! I hope I can show some build pics soon! Cheers, Azgaron
C-130CrewChief
Nice to see so many Wildcats! Curt
Viperguy
Just be careful with the canopy. I broke two of them in half and finally had to use a Squadron vacuform one.
Azgaron
I will! Thanks for the tip Viperguy! Cheers, Azgaron
Azgaron
Well, if nothing else, it's time to get started! I made a mix of Hu81 and a little black and painted the interior parts! More to come soon I hope! Cheers, HÃ¥kan
Azgaron
No one looking? I added some black paint to the interior parts! Also the inside of the fuselage got some detail paint and a wash and some drybrushing! Loaded some white and painted some parts while still on the sprue! After some additional dry brushing and minor assembly, the cockpit parts looks like this! I thought I'd add belts of some kind (tape perhaps), and while looking I found a build on Hyperscale, where the builder had cut out part of the floor. I'm thinking of doing that too, before I continue assembling the pit! I've also assembled the fuselage and the upper wing halves with the lower wing! Not much assembly left before I can start preparing for paint! Looks like the seams are very nice! Cheers, HÃ¥kan
El pibe vitina
Go Wildcat! Glad to see another one. Which scheme will you build? Cya.
Azgaron
Thanks El pibe vitina! I kinda fancy the three tone scheme, so I think I'll go for that! The belts turned out like this! Noticed, that I need to do a little touch up! Cheers, HÃ¥kan
Azgaron
Got some more done! The pit went into the fuselage nicely, with only a very minor gap at the armor behind the headrest! I shall try and fix that! The wings went on very easy too! Hardly no seam at all, and if there some filling to do it's minimal! Need to put the engine and cowling in place before I start painting! Cheers, HÃ¥kan
Patrick_Nevin
Need to put the engine and cowling in place before I start painting! Or be lazy like me and do 'em seperately :) Nice work, mister!
Azgaron
Thank you sir! :) I've considered that possibility too! I did that way on my Zero, but here I think it'll look more consistent if I paint them together! Cheers, HÃ¥kan
Azgaron
Been trying to make an oil tank, and finally made something out of styrofoam! I've just put it there to see how it looks! Does it look Ok? Engine done! The instructions doesn't say anything about the backside, but it shows through the wheel well so I've painted it! While I'm at it, perhaps I should add wires and stuff to the well too! Cheers, HÃ¥kan
pkrasna
Looking nice! Good progress. Primož
