Hey boys check this shot out!

Recommended Posts

Their setting up to do an aysmetery check of the slats and flaps after re-rigging them. They must have had a flap/slat lock out and had to re-rig the flap/slat system, one of the most dredded things for a F-14 Airframer. The cables are running from the sequencers to a test set, the test set tells them if everything is operating in unison.

Man, I remember having to be up there and QA'ing those test, what a PITA they were.

It's a picture of how crash n' smash can destroy a F-14 with out even working at it, all they have to do is do hoist training.

Watch crash n' smash brake an -18' back on the Ike about 10 years ago, seems someone forgot to install one of the hoist points correctly and when they went to lift it it didn't like it. To me knowledge, the bird never flew again, it was craned off at the end of the work ups and used for parts.

Never let crash n' smash on you aircraft if you ever want it to fly again, we don't call the crash n' smash for nothing. :worship:
