loftycomfort
I'm close to decaling my Trumpy Flanker and have a question. Since the Flankers are so heavily weathered, should I even bother with the myriad of stencils on the airframe? Don't they just get weathered away or covered by spot touchups on the real thing anyways? Cheers, Terry
Samurai_Chris
I'd say put them on and blend them in.. I hate large amounts of decals as well, kinda why I have only ever built two F-15's.. But better to at least give it a little more realism than not. They are actually on there. Just hard to see at times.. Chris
kotey
Of course on upper surfces paint of stencil is wearing too, like camouflage colours, but different paint in diffrerent stage - yellow is bigger, red - in mid stage, blue is a little. I think will be better if you placed stencil and then covered it thin layer of main colours, after that - abrasive work to make wearing effect Edited June 12, 2009 by kotey
geedubelyer
Hi Terry, I'd go with the other guys and recommend adding the stencils. Judging by reference pics many of the stencils remain but are weathered. The yellow data stencils look grey when they are weathered if that's any help. It's alot of work but will really add to your build. ;) :D
