Mad Viper
Here some photos of the Royal Netherlands Air Force Open Days at Volkel AB. Got to see a Typhoon demo, Mig-29 Demo and the might Vulcan. 2 great days were spent at Volkel. Some photos, first up the static 1. First time a C-17 was in front of my lens. A beauty. 2 Well discussed Thunderbolt 3 Second Dutch Hunter 4 A lot of fuel for this bird 5 Mirage 2000 close-up 6 Lovely Gnat, but I think the pilot misses something in his plane 7 Turkish Stars C-160 at the static 8 Other support plane, this time from the Marche Verte demo tem, a Casa C235 9. Slovakian An-26 10 And no spot will be missed to keep this beauty shining every day. Next up the Airshow Edited June 26, 2009 by Mad Viper
Mad Viper
1. Strikemaster time 2 There is a lot of love at the RAF 3 Awesome Typhoon demo 4 Marche Verte from Morocco 5 Turkish Stars 6 Apache performing in the Airpower Demo 7 Did I mentioned there was a lot of power in the Airpower Demo 8 Although this photo suggest otherwise, the car was put down gently 9 The new Dutch Demo F-16, Flare time 10. Another photo of Sheik End of part One Unfortunately I don't have any photos of the Typhoons leaving on friday. When they took of they went straight in the air, leaving me standing there just watching the brute force of the bird. Just an awesome sight. Mad Viper
Part 2 11 Spanish Hornet, to bad the sun was gone 12 New Belgian Demo F-16, a great paintjob which really helps making great photos 13 A strange bird amongst al those Jets, but what a demo. Now I know you can do a knife-edge with a King Air 14 Finally the Reds were present again, always a treat 15 When you see this, you know that aviation is a great thing. 16 Vulcan B) 17 Another one then 18 And the knock-out punch of the day. A great demo from this Polish Mig-29. Were other planes needed smokepods/systems, this Mig-29 didn't need that 19 20 That's all for now folks. Andre
7 Did I mentioned there was a lot of power in the Airpower Demo Nice pics! Is it me or is the position of the underwing roundel nonstandard on the Dutch F-16..? Cheers, Andre

Najk
Thanks for sharing those wonderful photos! But now I feel even more sad not being able to be there... Looks like it was a truly amazing show, as always when the Dutch people do an airshow..
janman
Magnificent stuff! Great shots all, but seeing a Vulcan flying really did it for me. Awesome! Always nice too see Polish Fulcrums as well.
Andre
@Andre: Don't quite follow you with that comment, care to explain it a bit. Sure! The roundel under the starboard wing appears to be more inbound than I'm used to seeing - it is usually closer to the wingtip. I *think*, at least. Cheers, Andre

Mad Viper
I think it's standard Andre, by judging some photos at airfighters.com. Example: http://www.airfighters.com/photo/27060/L/N...g-Falcon/J-873/
