For what it's worth, if memory serves the old Testors F-16 instructions called for FS 15042 Dark Sea Blue and FS 11136 Gloss Insignia Red. Tamiya's specs for their kit are for TS-8 Italian Red and X-3 Royal Blue. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
Jay Chladek Posted July 8, 2009 Share Posted July 8, 2009 Regardless of what the proper shades might be, if you match to the decals according to the instructions for whatever decal set you are using, you'll be fine. On the last few F-16 T-birds I've done, Insignia Blue is the proper shade (Tamiya's Royal Blue is the same shade) and matches decal blues nicely.
