There was a kit in 1/48 a donkey's age ago from Revell, it shows up on EvilBay from time to time. It's not the same truck as in the Life pics, but it was a type that was used on airfields...I think...

I decided to go with the Academy model and I have some custom decals made for it. Here is what I have. Sorry about the quality. The real decals look a whole lot better they just did not scan very well and the printer was low on ink.

Here are the pictures I found that I based the decals off of.

Just be aware of the timeline for that logo. It wasn't used until 1959. Up till then Phillips used the orange and black logo.

Thanks for that information. Would it be unusuall for a DC-3 that was built in 1941 to still be running in 1959? If so I need to change my logo a little.

There are DC-3's/C-47's still operating commercially in northern Canada, so no, it wouldn't be unusual.

Cool thanks guys! I found this on the internet recently and was wondering if this would work if I painted it like one of the trucks in the pictures. http://www.academy.co.kr/eng/ssCartimate/i...&imgMode=N#

That Opel was used for rocket fuel for the Me-163 but most people wouldn't know. But I think it do look to much miltary. Perhaps the ZIS-6 would look better:

ZIS-6

This truck was was a licence built version of the american Autocar and reminds me of the truck on this add

Rocket fuel? You are right about most people not knowing that. I even did not know that! I am going to modify the truck a little bit to make it look less like a millitary truck. I am going to try to do some work around the tank area to make it look more like the trucks in the pictures I have found. Should not be too hard just some need some styrene. And I already ordered the truck from the hobby store and paid for it so there is no backing out now. ;)
