rotorwash
Oliver, Looking good. How are you painting is without masking the interior? Or are you removing the mask for pictures? Ray
kike
Great to see you're back Oliver! what a good way of following and learning your technique by doing step by step updates! I'll be repeating myself but what a great job!!
Rotorman
Oliver, Looking good. How are you painting is without masking the interior? Or are you removing the mask for pictures? Ray Hi Ray I am using soft foam masks cut to shape to mask the interior, its easier to deal with and faster to check if all areas are painted correctly. Oliver
Rotorman
Hi Not much interest with this build anymore but I will still update progress. I am getting tired of this build I must admit....time to finish I was going to post photos of the front windshield issues and the gaps but either my computer is acting up or Photobucket is playing tricks. In any case, This is what was done the last two weeks. Future front windshield and glued in place. Built a small frame out of thin styrene between helo frame and windshield to get rid of gaps all the way around....all gaps have now gone, The frame was sanded down a bit. Finished the weathering of the Field green color on the fuselage this morning. Oliver Photobucket is allowing me to load only two photos at a time....whats up with this.? rotorwash
Looking good Oliver. I'm certainly not tired of your build. I wish someone would make a Huey model with a windshield that fit! Ray
Twig
G'day Oliver, we're certainly not tired of watching your epic build come together! I know the feeling when you just want it done, but you're still doing such a perfect job on all the little details. That windscreen is perfect! Craig
Rotorman
Update photos. First posting of the grey work. The gap around the window frame is no more. There are a lot more painting effects done than u see on photos. The tail end of the helo is done darker than the front and top cabin roof.
