Mumbles
Another post close date straggler, PK111 1:72 JU-87 D/G Stuka finished as a G with the underwing 37mm cannon: And with the same kit I made as a pre teen back in 1984 or so: Aside from drilling out the gun muzzles the model is right out of the box. I used the kit decals with aftermarket swastikas (curiously, the 1984 version had swastikas on the decal sheet. I'm thinking this one might be a later boxing for european distribution). I have no idea if the colour scheme is accurate for the aircraft, I just wanted to try one of those random Luftwaffe temporary winter schemes and this was as good a subject as any. Julien (UK)
Well I finally got it finished ( a bit late!) This is the old Matchbox kit with Euro Decal decals. Aircraft is an F-86A of the Montana Air National Guard as photographed at Nellis AFB gunnery meet 1955. Aircraft is painted bright yellow as it was used as a Target Tug. Paints are humbrol silver and a custom mix acrylic yellow. I now hate spraying yellow. It took a good many coats. Not bad for an old kit. Julien
