Avenger Lai
Hi guys!! My first entry into a group build - 1/72 Belgium F-16A FA-62 Demo 1998 1/72 Hasegawa F-16A plus Eduard PE set 73235 Paula Models ACES II seats Daco products decals Progress so far: I am not planning this plane to be super-realistic and hence haven't done research on what the instrument panel should look like... at least it looks 'realistic' to me. ;) First time using resin seats. The addition of Eduard PE sets compliments the resin seat nicely Hope you like the pics Regards, Chris
Julien (UK)
Nice one. Sad to see 10 HK$ now reduced to a coin. I remember when they were nice green notes. Julien
Avenger Lai
Progress so far: Many PE went on the underside of the plane: The original Hasegawa kit has few details in the landing gear bays... Front landing gear: Just discovered the tail of the F-16A plus kit is different from the Belgium F-16...it should be the MLU version (would F-16 experts correct me if I am wrong). Luckily, I just purchased an Academy KF-16C, which happened to have a suitable tail that is not used by the kit itself! Before conversion: After conversion: Please feel free to comment...this is the first time I used PE parts for planes, and first time trying to modify a kit by "cut & paste" method from donor kits... Hope you guys like it. Nice one.Sad to see 10 HK$ now reduced to a coin. I remember when they were nice green notes. Julien Thanks Julien for the comment. Apart from the 10 dollars coin, we do have purple plastic notes too...
Julien (UK)
Apart from the 10 dollars coin, we do have purple plastic notes too... Urh! purple, not nice. For some reason I still carry a HK$10 Note from 1985 in my wallet, doubt its even legal now. I suppose I just keep it for luck. Looking good on the 16. Julien
Avenger Lai
Thanks Julien, Some updates. The plane is now ready for Decals. Closeup on the wings. There is a step between the fuselage and the wings, I had spend a lot time trying to eliminate it... Result of the 'tail' after sanding and some putty. Result not very good...I'm no good at re-scribing panel lines. Underside. (I know the building sequence is strange...) Urh! purple, not nice. For some reason I still carry a HK$10 Note from 1985 in my wallet, doubt its even legal now. I suppose I just keep it for luck. Looking good on the 16. Julien Two more pics especially for Julien...the PURPLE HK$10 note! ;) Hope you like it!

Avenger Lai
Update progress: Decals on!! Although the number of decals are small for the Daco sheet, it took me a little longer than I expected...the large decals are tricky to put on, especially the two on the top side of the main wings, there are many bumps on the wing tips...quite tricky...need some touch-up with paints... This is the first time I used Daco Decals, when first applied, it looked pretty thick and not easy to bend, but after ~1 minute, its texture 'changed', especially when I applied mark softer. I am happy with the results. My favorite - the claws!
Andrew Doppel
Those are great looking decals. When done are you going to give it a panel wash or keep her clean? Regards Andrew

Avenger Lai
Finally done!! Can't believe I can finish in time!! (I had to take a few days of annual leaves for it!!) I especially liked the photo etch set, really added a lot of detail to the 20+ year old Hasegawa kit. Top coat by several coats of Mr Hobby Semi-gloss clear coat. Finishing touches with a light oil wash and dry brushed the cockpit area. Hope you like it. Regards, Chris
