SouthViper
So much Rafale kits in 1/48, so many versions ... Could someone explain the differences between they ? Thank You and Good Luck ! SouthViper
sv51macross
The Heller is an old kit based on the slightly-smaller-than-production prototype Rafale. The Revell/Revell GMBH is a true-to scale, accurate, and good fitting representation of the production B and M Rafales. The HobbyBoss Rafales are cheap (in quality) knock-offs of the Revell kits. (though are still 'buildable').
thegoodsgt
The Rafale has been in intriguing subject to a lot of folks. If you do a search you'll find several pages of really good conversations about these kits and related subjects.
JasonB
Quick and dirty going off memory HobbyBoss did 3-the M, B, C. They are the only ones to have boxed a C at this point. By all accounts, the HB kits seem to be copies of the Revell kit. Not bad, they are buildable and I have seen good results from them. For some reason they are usually more expensive by a good margin than the Revell kit, especially the C version. Revell/RoG Released a B and an M, then a retooled B that included changes made to the production machines. The retooled B is the one with the Tiger Meet markings, all other kits are the earlier tooling. The M was not retooled. No C varient. Cross kitting the new tool B and the M is possible to get what is basically a new tool M, and probably the same is true to get a C with a swapping of parts. Wolfpack designs did several upgrade sets. The first included the parts needed to bring the initial releases (both HB and Revell) up to production standards. These include things like chaff/flare dispensers, new nose cone, gun port cover and new missile rails. Since Revell retooled the B, Wolfpack also released an update for that kit, that did away with some unneeded parts that are now part of the Revell retooling.
