Matt Roberts
Lucky Model has the new Trumpeter 48th J-10 and JF-17's on the site this morning. The note is 'available' not 'in stock' but I am assuming this just means they are expecting them soon. J-10 price around $40 shipped and the JF-17 $30 shipped. Looks like we will soon see if the JF-17 is the same as the Bronco one. This one is showing Pakistani markings J-10 http://www.luckymodel.com/scale.aspx?item_no=TP02841 JF-17 http://www.luckymodel.com/scale.aspx?item_no=TP02815 http://www.luckymodel.com/scale.aspx?depar...;catalog_no=TRU Hello Raymond! <EDITED> - to get rid of wrong name for the FC-17 - it is JF-17 and FC-1 depending I guess on who is operating it :D Edited September 18, 2009 by Matt Roberts

Matt Roberts
Just saw on Stevens website a November release and price $60 (same as the new F-100C), the FC-17 at $45 (so figure double what the price from Lucky is and still half again more than LM including shipping

ALPH
just when i finished painting my bronco's kit... good news anyway, i'll certainly buy un couple of each :)
Matt Roberts
just when i finished painting my bronco's kit...good news anyway, i'll certainly buy un couple of each :) There is still a strong suspicion that the Bronco and Trumpeter are one and the same, with Bronco taking the PLAAF markings and Trumpy doing the Pakistani ones. It'll be interesting to see the weaponry included, get some Python 3s....errrr...PL-8 missiles Matt
Matt Roberts
Over on Z5 someone in Japan (I think) - Samurai Chris, actually has the kit (J-10). Those interested may want to wander over there as I don't think direct linking is advisable..... So perhaps keep an eye on 1999.co.jp next week to see info regarding sprue shots and instructions for these two kits. Matt
Deino
Does anyone know if Trumpeter has plans to do a FC-1 / JF-17 in 1/72 too ... and preferable a scaled-down single and twin-seater J-10 based on the new kit. Matt Roberts
http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....9&hl=dragon Here is a link to a JF-17 discussion in Research Corner. Ok where did I get FC-17 from? I know that Chinese aircraft have differing names if produced for PLAAF or export (as bad as British a/c from the 50's and 60's!) Love search function....I can't get a hit on J-10 or J-10A and only got this one on 'Dragon' - I know we have had other threads! Matt What the 'ell I'll try 'Vigorous', I thought it was Fierce Dragon.... Edited September 18, 2009 by Matt Roberts

Matt What the 'ell I'll try 'Vigorous', I thought it was Fierce Dragon.... No, as Kevan Vogler pointed, the J-10 is called "Vigorous Dragon" (Chinese spelling: MENG LONG), whereas the FC-1 is called the "Fierce Dragon" (Chinese spelling: XIAO LONG) ... in Pakistan it's called the "Thunder" or JF-17. foxmulder_ms
You can tell what weapons it will have; also, it might have weighted tries. Edited September 18, 2009 by foxmulder_ms

I did not saw those 2 coming..!! Especially the 1st one... !!! Though i guess it was inevitable they would do it in 1-48th scale, eventually.. Well... they got the same idea as me it seems (cry, cry...). I guess i will just have to make mine better (i had been researching the J-10 since several years, since the early first leaked photos, with a project to make it as a resin kit (but then the project veered into another direction when i started to prepare for injection kits projects)(though a 1-48th injected version was several years down the line due the much bigger size and much more expensive (many) molds, the J-10 was still on my radar, as a year 3 or year 4 project).
