aerodrew
Here's some shots I took today with my D300s: (straight Jpeg, no post processing) (I bet I could crop this one) I might try shooting in NEF RAW tomorrow, will post more and D300S 720p videos of the Thunderbirds aerobatics on youtube when I have time. I'm glad to say that the video performance on the D300S was not too bad. Just keeping a steady had can eliminate a good amount of jello vision. TXCajun
Is that Hawker Hunter owned by someone on the Island? I'm thinking that there is no way the Hunter can make it to Hawaii on one tank of gas!
aerodrew
Is that Hawker Hunter owned by someone on the Island? I'm thinking that there is no way the Hunter can make it to Hawaii on one tank of gas! Actually he had 4 drop tanks, but I believe the pilot told me that he works for a contract military unit that provides support for the Navy and Air force. It's called ATAC, or something like that. Here's some alternate views of the jet. Haven't been able to find out any more info other than what he told me.
Griff13
Any pics of that C-17 in the background?
g0_command0
ATAC is a company that provides air services to the U.S Military. I beleive they have operated their hunters as far as Japan.
aerodrew
UPDATE: I just went through a brochure from ATAC. I believe it said they have Hawker Hunters stationed at Kaneohe Bay, but have operated as far as Japan.
RedHeadKevin
I was going to ask a similar question about that MiG-15. Could it hop from CONUS to Hawaii?
Rhinotank
Hmm...Bats in CONUS. Suspect at best! At least they brought their standard HAZMAT spill with them! It was out trademark for cross countires. Here's some more shots from day 2: EDIT: I'll get around to posting the D300s recorded videos on youtube soon.
Aggressor Supporter
Nice pics taken there. Looks like a good show there. I wonder what kind of service does the ATAC Hunter provides and who the Mig-15 belongs to?
