Mumbles
Finally got this started today, with three days to go I guess that means it will be built in the finest Matchbox tradition, i.e. as quickly as possible! It also seems appropriate that as the GB draws to a close I am entering with the banner model Starting point this afternoon with its 25 year old sibling looking on About an hour later... About another hour later... And at close of play tonight, primered and with the underside light blue coat done.
Azgaron
Very nice and fast start Mumbles! Cheers, HÃ¥kan
Mumbles
Cheers :) Progress after night two Yellow applied to wing tips completes the underside base coat And the base top coat of black green applied The instructions don't call for a splinter finish (possibly because I think the example in the RAF Museum was used as a reference which from memory wasn't splintered) so I haven't done one. Also, the plan is to finish this in one of the winter schemes which will cover most of the green anyway
Azgaron
Looking good Mumbles! Love to see the winter camo! Cheers, HÃ¥kan
Mumbles
Decalled up now and sealed ready for a white overcoat to go on tonight: Who-knows-how-old kit decals used with no problems, plus Aeromaster swastikas. Mumbles
Well its still October 1st here in New Zealand, but due to not being able to make models anymore the way I did when I was seven, I'm not quite going to make the deadline on this one! Just some final assembly and weathering to do and its done though: Not terrible for three nights work though! The scheme may be totally spurious, but it is something I wanted to try, and accuracy isn't a prime consideration on this build
Trojan Thunder
Wow Sam! Boy you have got through that one quickly! Looks good
mlicari
Wow! I like the scheme! That looks like a nice little kit. I just built the Academy one, but the Matchbox one looks just as nice. ;) Mike
Mumbles
Thanks guys I've got a feeling the Academy kit might be a teensy bit more detailed than this one! Finished as of last night: One of my faster builds, four and a half evenings! I think that might be a record for me More pics in the showcase thread Edited October 2, 2009 by Mumbles
