ScottD
Stick with Tamiya on this one....sorry to burst your bubble, as I am sure I'll probably pay some hefty price for speaking so sacrilegiously about Eduard. Do they make other good kits and accessories? Of course....but in my opinion they have a long way to go when it comes to these particular kits.Respectfully, Greg Greg, Some one posted test shots of the FW190D9 from the Columbus IPMS Nats show and it looks like Eduard learned their lesson about over engineering models...I think its in this thread here (photobucket and other photo hosting websites are blocked at work): http://www.network54.com/Forum/149674/thre...again!!! I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt till otherwise proven wrong...plus it sounds like the kit isn't gonna come out till December in Europe now since the October newsletter had nothing about it. Think I'm going to build the Tamiya He219 Uhu I have in my collection for this build till I get more info on the Eduard kit. I've built the Tamiya Fw190D9 a couple times...its an ok kit...need resin to fix the lack of an engine and the gun cowlings are shaped wrong (nothing that some sanding can't take care of) and has the covered wheel wells on it also... Mark M.
I may be able to enter an Academy 1/72 Fw190A. Which 190A and which markings, I don't know yet. I have this: . Unopened except that I've built the Kubelwagen that comes with it. Comes with parts to make anything from A5 to A8, including R1 gunpods. Not very accurate ones, but what the hey! I don't like the Heinz Bar decals, not enough pizazz for me... If I can scrounge my spares box and put something else together, I may do that instead.

Being able to make a kit from the A5 to the A8 opens up a lot of oppertunities - there's a lot of colourful schemes out there that can be done! Can't wait to hear what you've got planned! Mark M.
Slight correction: A6 through A8. Doesn't have the right bulges for MG/FF outboard, but I suppose they could be scratch-built (or removed totally) for an A5 variant. EDIT: I'm narrowing it down. Primary idea right now: II/SG2, Karl Kennel's A-8 http://fw190.hobbyvista.com/kitzingen1.htm Or one of the striped/checkered Northern European A-5/A-6 models with R1 gunpods. Either way means masking and painting the markings, which will be hard for me. Edited October 7, 2009 by Mark M.
Touvdal
Mark, not a very good kit shape wise, but I have seen what you did with the Roden He 111 (the worst kit ever produced), so you probaly get something nice out of this one too. cheers Jes
silver1
I'm going to build the RoG 1/48 Do 217 E-4. It seems like a pretty straightforward kit. Building 6N+KM from 4./KG 100 based in Cognac France. Oct 1943. I have been looking for aftermarket decals for this plane but have not found any that carried the Hs 293 so I am going to use the kit decals. Ed

matrixone
I would like to enter this GB. My entry will be a Tamiya 1/48 scale Fw 190D-9 built O.O.B. except for the mainwheels and the decals which will be from Eagle Cals. Not sure yet of the markings I will choose but it might be one of the early GFW built Doras. Matrixone
Isaac
Eduard Fw-190 A8 1/48 OOB Well I was going to do an American plane but I wanted to participate in a GB. Its an Eduard kit. I've built two hellcats and one BF-110. This will be my 4th Eduard kit. I've read bad things about the Eduard FW-190 so we'll see how it goes!
Huey Gunner
OK, I'm going to try to get these done:1/72 Hasegawa Ju 88C-6, "C9+DE", Stab IV./NJG 5, Hauptmann Heinrich Prinz zu Sayn-Wittgenstein 1/72 Revell Me 262B-1a/U1, "Red 10", 10./NJG 11, Oblt. Karl-Heinz Becker 1/72 FineMolds Bf 109G-6, "Red 6", 2./JG 300, Leutnant Arnold Döring 1/72 Italeri/High Planes Model Kitbash, Bf 110G-4, 3C+LB, Stab I./NJG 4, Major Willi Herget How on earth are you going to find time to work on the TVMC website? :)
papa_bear
One question, parts are cut down from sprues, because I have not too much space for keeping boxes, is that a problem for this GB? If it is ok, count me in. I will participate with RoG Me262A-1a. Still don't know which unit, but I promise it would be some weird camouflage It's time to test new AB :) Aftermarket parts for now: Airwaves etched set for Revell's Me 262 in 1/72... EDIT: I've found something from spare decals... Nowotny's 262 from this baner... White 8... Edited December 22, 2009 by papa_bear

The rule says it cannot be more than 25% built before the GB started, but cutting parts off of sprues, that's not construction... more of "organized destruction"... just my 2 cents. papa_bear
Beside me 262, count me in with Revell's 1/72 Focke Wulf 190A8 It will be Rammjaeger A8/R2<<+~, pilot Major Wilhem Moritz. Greetings, Dada

Patrick_Nevin
As my Arado build (and Rick's, I suspect) is dragged painfully towards the finish line - and I though this GB finished in 2009: why have we been hacking it? - I feel the need for a sanity build. Very, very deeply So here it is. I think construction may complete by tomorrow if I start before lunch. However this is no insult intended towards a fine looking, well detailed kit and, besides, I thought the Hasegawa would fit together well. So maybe the March deadline will be needed after all... jugjunkie
I would like to enter with Revell's 1/48th JU 88 C6. Don't know which aircraft yet but i'm leaning towardsa all-over RLM 02 machine from NJG 3. Truth is I started this kit a month back and have only completed a partial cockpit (i'd say about 5% finished - is this eligible?) Geoff
Milo
Hello all! I decided to throw my hat in the ring here. I'm a long-time lurker, first time group builder. My build will be a 1/72 Hasegawa Fw 190A-7 flown by Heinz Bar. Here's a profile of what I hope to complete: Here's my kit along with a couple of the aftermarket I plan on using: And here's the bare bones: I hope to have a blast!
