Ajed1
Hi I'm new here so if this is the wrong place please forgive me. Has anyone built the Revell (Monagram) kit and could pass on some hints and tips? Ajed1

Jennings
Just don't expect it to be 1/48. It's approximately 1/40 scale. Unless you're talking about the 1979 Monogram kit, which is in fact 1/48. Confused? J
Pete
I think he's talking about the A-1 Skyraider, also named Spad. Not the WW1 biplanes. Edited October 18, 2009 by Pete
Jennings
I think he's talking about the A-1 Skyraider, also named Spad. Not the WW1 biplanes. Exactly so. The old Revell kit from the 1960s is a 1/40 (approx) scale Douglas A-1. The Revell WWI kits are 1/28 scale. J Edited October 18, 2009 by Jennings
Ajed1
Woops me bad Yes the A-1H Skyraider is the aircraft in question. Sorry about that. The exact scale doesn't matter (Heresy these days) but this was the last model I built 30 years ago -- and seemed like a good place to start again. Ajed1
majortomski
There is both a Monogram Skyraider in 1:48 and the Old OOOLLDDD Revell Skyraider that is bigger with "action" features, flolding wings, extending speed breaks, retracting gear. The monogram kit is pretty good for its age http://modelingmadness.com/reviews/viet/camad6.htm http://modelingmadness.com/scotts/korean/a1preview.htm HRH Tom
