klimmer
Hello everyone, This is a very old kit, 1988 by the looks of it, and trust me from the amount of flash on the parts I believe it. I have managed to make a start on it (my first non aircraft model) hopefully I can do some justice to it. There is no raised detail at all on the kit, so the decals have to be used for all the instruments. I have got the majority of the interior done up This is a great idea for a GB, gets us all doing something different. Thanks for looking Ted
Adam Baker
Nice work so far. What scale is it? Ive got RoG's 1/72 Type 7 and CMK makes some awesome resin interiors for it, but at about 50 bucks a pop for each compartment, its a bit out of my price range.
klimmer
Thanks Adam, The kit is 1/125th scale, and will end up being about 21" long. I can just imagine what a sub in 1/72 scale would take up on the display area. Ted
Tank
I can just imagine what a sub in 1/72 scale would take up on the display area. About 36" IIRC.
Adam Baker
Yea, 36" is about right. You should see the Gato, its like 50" or 52" long
klimmer
Where do you guys put things that large?
VRFlyer
Where do you guys put things that large? Same as with the large aircraft - hang it from the ceiling! ;)
Adam Baker
Find a really big shelf, haha. I have the 1/72 Type VII-C and the 1/72 HMCS corvette. I want the Type VII-41 and the Gato. All 4 are very large models, w/ the U-boats and the corvette being roughly the same length, about 36" or so, and the Gato being quite a bit larger, like I mentioned before.
