The rear canopy of the two seater seems to have the right circular shape the canopy of the single seater should have. As on the real aircraft, the rear canopy of the two seater was the same part as the single seater canopy, it's not a long way to go to have the right single seater canopy. Come on Trumpy, just a little effort...

Actually, there is a vac kit of the Jaguar in 1/32, produced by John "Tigger" Wilkes:

Kev

My original message didn't contain anything about Jaguar. I was giving Su-24 as an example. Hence, vac of Su-24. :)

But, i was wrong. For first time a Trumpeter pattern maker makes his debut here on ARC, so errors *can*/maybe be fixed before the steel is cut, which wasn't the case with Su-24 kit.

Song, do you need any pictures of the LRMTS which is in the nose of the RAF GR1/3 and Omani Jags? I work with the beastie so I can get you any pics that you may want.

Graham.

For the correct model ,more information more well. thank you.

What an absolute pleasure this is to have a Trumpeter employee taking account of everyone's opinions of this project. I feel fuzzy and I feel 1/32 has entered a new age. Unless its Keith taking the Micky again with a mocked up 1/48 kit??

I'm pretty sure Song is the real deal.

yes ,you are right and i will correct it late.

thank you very much .

Song, whatever you do, don't worry about it; we have British "English-speakers," here, whose spelling is far worse than yours, and they're supposed to have had a proper education.

Incidentally, I have several photos of an early Jaguar, which include the cockpit with, and without, the seat, inside the wheel wells, and other odd corners. If they would be useful, send me a PM, with an E-mail address, and I'll start sending them.

Edgar

P.S. Just to clarify; by "here," I meant the U.K., not this website, before a virtual hit squad comes looking for me.

If a Russian small "cottage" makers can make it very accurate in outline, why can't Trumpeter? Fair enough, Russians have Su-24 in their backyard, but the kit fits in drawings that are available on Internet, for free.

I don't think that just because there is no alternative for us, the maker can be "relaxed", because people will buy anyway. I will buy one, for sure. Depending on the price, maybe two or three.

Hmm, I they could have found Su-24s in some museums in Russia for a reference (there's one rusting in the yard of the Central Museum of Armed Forces, together with MiG-21/23/25/29 and Su-25/27). I can't believe that spine could be so obviously different from the real thing. We're not talking about some cheap vac-form kit here.

...And at same time we (us rivet counters that rip apart poor lil kits) could see something was wrong with the spine *without* have measured it. I am sure most of us haven't even been *near* Su-24. As i said: The Streem kit fits with drawings. That means it probably was based on drawings, not necessarily a real fencer was measured and the kit was based on that. There are a lot of detailed drawings on the net:

As i said Mr. Song, none of us that have given critique based on our measurements of the real thing. Because none of us have actually measured the real thing. So, it is same for Trumpeter as for us at ARC. We don't have ability to measure Su-24 either. All we know is that the spine is to low, based on pictures and drawings. If pictures and drawings were good for the Streem guys, it is good enough for us too.

This is getting to much off topic, and it is my fault. (not sarcastic here at all)

How about Mr.Song and Trumpeter gets their own forum here, Steve? There´s so much we want to ask and I bet they want to inform us and ask us in return. :jaw-dropping:

If Mr.Song will attend regulary this will be the beginning of a beautiful friendship! :D

Cheers!

Hi Mr Song

I would like to thank you showing us that Jaguar project.

I must admit that converting myself a Lynx helicopter, it's hard to work even with thousends of pictures I have.

It's hard to get the shape right.

In an other hand, the drawings I used were always false or not precise enough.

If it's time to make change to the project shape, I will suggest you get the connection to people who have direct contact with the real thing and can make all measure you may need.

they are here and there modelers club installed in, or close to museums.

They are also modelers who work in military bases and can be allowed to make pictures and measurement (it's how I get some of my references).

I'm sure that ARC people can help giving contact you may need, there are specialists of every plane or helicopter here or there.

for example, on the helicopter forum, you can find an Apache specialist, a Blackhawk specialist, a Cobra specialist or connections to thoses guys who know.

I'm sure it's the same in the other forums.

For the Jaguar, could you need contact to people working in a museum? I can send you some by MP

Hope it helps to be constructive, and I must share I am realy impressed by the project.

french modelers are very interested on the french forums.

Norbert

when do we have next new helicopter in 1/35 ?..... I couldn't resist :sunrevolves:

Berkut,thanks for your attitude...

Su-24 not yet for sell, may the somethings can be change....

Su-24 project was not only one version--Su-24M,(Fencer-D) for release . Reconnaissance variant Su-24MR ('Fencer-E'),ELINT variantSu-24MP ('Fencer-F')and early version short nose Su-24 is in the plans , they wil be come real later. so all that`s "bug" will be fit .
