Emvar
Started this oh.....Last year. ;) First Armour build for me ever. Trump M1126 Stryker Voyager resin Wheels Some scratch building and here is where I am so Far.... used kit PE. Have yet to paint the Lights and Glass Periscope portals and add kit decals also going to add a spare tire and stuff hanging/piled on the vehicle. My next one will be the Trump LAV III when I get one. Comments welcome/ accuracy was not a real concern as this was to be a fun build. Emvar
Starting to go through my started kits and finish them off. Not starting anything new till this pile is done. I've even got a Leo 2A6 in my stash......
HeavyArty
Lookes really good so far. A tip for next time though, put the decals all on before weathering. That way they too get weathered with the vehicle and won't stand out as much. Same for the vision blocks and lights. There should be dust and grime on them like the rest of the vehicle as well. The weathering should be the last step.

Was fun though.

Emvar
Thanks for the kind words guys.... Now I'm collecting all the stuff to be piled on the beast and I'm going to try my hand at putting a soldier on top Taking a quick nap. Got the Tamiya accessory set with packs and ammo cans and MRE boxes. Need to get some small arms that are up to date for the current events. I think I'm going to scratch build the tie downs and relevant strapping that keep all the stuff on the vehicle. Also Need some references for a fully suited U.S. Army Soldier in a Combat theater, with body armour. Need an M4A1 with or without the M203 ... Right now I have a M16A1 with the M203 attachment. I'm going to have a bit of fun piling stuff on this one. Also need a source for AM coke cans and water bottles which I'm sure are carried in addition to the MREs. Not an Armour Guy here but this has been fun so far building, I'm thinking that I may just continue in between my other projects. Any help is appreciated greatly!! Emvar
Some More Progress for your viewing pleasure....... and it's still not done. This is where I'm parking it..... my garden shed Love the Tamiya Weathering system Decals were kit decals used future to settle them down then weathered over them again. Periscope glass is metal Foil tape and the colour is from my red marker I sealed the marker by going over it using the Testors Clear Glue. Used same method on Gun turret for 2 out of 3 sights. For the lights I used silver paint as a backing then went over it using appropriate colour permanent marker and the clear glue. I like the results from the Metal tape instead of the paint backing. Footprints are Caliber 35 (I still need to get the modern US ones.......if anybody knows where please let me know or if you want to sell me yours PM me.) I am going to start the Cargo Strapping shortly and start hanging equipment from it soon. This model has been an experiment on several techniques and also in my impatiences. :D Emil

Emvar
Thanks for the kind remarks..... compared to Aircraft you just can't overdo Armour. The Challenge is going to be all the stuff to hang from it..... Anyone know anyplace I can download maps and labels in 1/35th. I know you can buy the stuff but the budget is getting tightened and I would prefer to do it myself. Also how do the Armour boys hang stuff from the sides of their models need to look realistic. Here is some work in progress Tamiya tape strapping on the water and fuel cans. I wouldn't call it a show winner, but I am pretty picky. Emil
geedubelyer
I thought that first photo WAS rea;!!!! Elmo, you did a GREAT job!!!! Agreed! I'm with Phantom on that, I thought it was real at first glance. Superb job alround Emil, congrats!
-Gabe-
I like the addition of Tamiya tape straps, but I think they need some paint too... Gabe

Emvar
Gabe, Yeah I know, I still have to add the cargo netting and such. having some real fun building this. Joe, Thanks for the link!!! Been checking your builds out!! Simply amazing. Emil
Emvar
I'm Calling this one done........ My whole one complete build for this year. I wanted to do more but decided against it as this one was supposed to be OOB. Added The netting and the cabling. Had to redo the pullies using my punch and die set as I lost one to the carpet monster and the other was just a blob. Added marker lights to the sides as the Trump kit does not have them...... Pretty much do it the same way I do all my coloured lights and lenses using My permanent markers. Covered all my mistakes with the Tamiya weathering sets (which are the best!!!). Added A lens Hood thingy to the weapons station as the Trump WS is pretty sparse. Ended up using Voyager resin wheels to replace the kit wheels. Paints used where Grey Automotive primer from a rattle can. Testors dark Green from a Rattle can and Testors Flat black. Used Tamiya Acrylics to touch up where I went back to do work. The netting and straps where Tamiya tape cut in strips and then painted a grey colour. The best walk arounds I came across were at Prime Portal. This is not going to be a show winner, but it was fun! Accuracy was not a concern on this build but the temptation was there. For the money I paid for the Trump kit, I think it turned out pretty decent. <_< Emil
