Yellowed old canopy

I have several old canopies and all off them are yellowed.

Any suggestions for getting again clear canopies?

sometimes plastics yellow with age , it depends on if something that is coating them has yellowed and if it is removable as well.

i'd personaly go for new replacement aftermarket cannopies if it is an issue

My understanding is that the yellowing is to do with the age of the polymers in the plastic so is an irreversible effect at the molecular level.

I'd try to find aftermarket replacements. Also, try to find out if the kits you have are actually on the market currently in reissued form, if they are, the manufacturer might be willing to give or sell you a replacement part from the reissued run.

As previously said, its a matter of ageing and Im afraid that no solution to solve it.

Before buy a replace piece, I think is worth try to use the old canopy as a master to obtain a self made comformed piece using hot clear acetate sheets.

The above replies are all true but you might try polishing them with plain old-fashioned white toothpaste to see if lessens the yellowing any.

Maybe try letting it sit by the sunlight for a couple days. I don't think it would work but I've heard of people doing it with old decal sheets and having some pretty good success.
