Me's afraid my love for yer C has just overthrown the Sufa; oh, yeh... Nice decal on the tail, Bee-Bee! Say, ain't deadline over the horizon already for this Group Build? Cheers, mate! Unc² P.S.: Such a bummer to see my dog house's defrosted. Edith Piaf: There's still plenty of time for this Group Build to go... Marlin
So, Bosse, mate; how's yer "plastic" family doin' like? :) Cheers, mate! Unc² Hi Uncle. The Baraks and Sufa is on a slowburner for now. I've been busy with opening up the cottage for this years season. But I've made some small progress. The C and Sufa is decaled. And they got their nosegear. And the nosecone for the Sufa is in its right place. Kinetic has included a brass pitot tube. That'll go on last. I don't think I'll be including the fourth Barak D in this build. Instead I'll concentrate to finish these three. But I'll not drop the fourth D. I'll build it outside the GB instead. I got some other re-runs planned for the summer as well. ;) That's it for now. /Bosse
Qian
It's coming along very nice there bud. Did you paint the right aux exhaust in fron of the MLGs on the Sufa silver? As far as I know, that's supposed to be Burnt Iron or Steel in color. But maybe that's the lighting..

Thanks Qian, I've painted the aux exhaust with Burnt steel from Xtracolor, but I think the flash from my camera made it look more silvery than it is in real life. :D /Bosse

Marlin
Hi Gang, It's been a while since my last update. Since Spring has finally arrived here in my northern part of the world I spend my weekends in the cottage with the family now. So building time is reduced to evenings after work. But I've not stopped building. I'm nearing the end of the Sufa-build. MLG-bays have been detailed a bit. The HUD repeater is installed in the backseat. And the last decals is now on. And I did try out something new on the Lantern pod for the D. I took the holographic film from a creditcard and cut it to match the lens on the pod. I will do this to the Litening pod for the Sufa as well. I think it looks OK. What do you think? I've also put the matt coat on the C. That's it for now. /Bosse
Qian
That's a very cool idea for the targeting pods Bosse! Might have to try that on my next targeting pods or F-15E HUD!
Netz
Sorry I'm a bit late to this thread, I don't get down here to the group builds too often. But here is a link to my partial Hasegawa Build, I put in a few tips on how to address the wing fit,all of my Hasegawa builds have turned out this way with no need for shims. I see your still brush painting, I thought you were going to get an airbrush for Christmas??? Curt Hi again, I think I've got the wings to fit now. I've filled the gap with .10 and .05 strips until it was gone. Last time I built a Haswgawa F-16 I filled the gaps with putty and I took fore ever to get an even fill. Ã'm quite satisfied with this result. Now I can finally begin the Tamiya C-model... T B C...... /Bosse

It's on hold for a little while longer. The kids needs new bikes and I need new specs. All in good time........ /Bosse

I thought bikes were public property...you just grab one when you need one Specs? naaaaw, squinting is cheaper! There, now you can afford an Iwata and a Sil-Air compressor!!!! j/k mate! You get your stuff when you´re ready and until then you thrill us with your brush and awesome building technique! Cheers mate!
Uncle Uncool
I took the holographic film from a creditcard and cut it to match the lens on the pod.I think it looks OK. What do you think? Such a clever idea, Bosse! Yeh, me likes! We'd have never thought 'bout that one. Nice? NICE? NICE...??? I've also put the matt coat on the C. Aw, I really love how subtle the camouflage colours look under the matt coat. Yer C is lookin' sharp. Me is in love again. I see your still brush painting, I thought you were going to get an airbrush for Christmas??? Hmph... We all thought the same; last Christmas I did the best I could with the brainwash, but still that bloody Satan Clown blimp got away with not delivering the suggested gift. He's to pay dearly 'bout that. :P The kids needs new bikes and I need new specs. See? Yer needin' new specs is surely owing to have allowed Emelie takin' pictures of ya while the den was filled with flammable paint fumes and stuff. ;) Never again, ya hear? NEW bikes? I thought bikes were public property...you just grab one when you need oneSpecs? naaaaw, squinting is cheaper! Aw, Jay-Jay! Ya kill me. Bosse meant "bikes" as in "motorcycles." One luvly 90cc moped for Emelie; a 1340cc Harley-Davidson Fat Boy for Erik and a 650cc Honda XL for Axel. As for Bosse, he's probably gonna get just new graduated glasses for his current frame... such a good father. :P Cheers, Bosse, mate! Unc²
Marlin
Hi Gang. I'm almost finished with the Sufa. I've put the pods, tanks and ordnance on it. What remains is the cover plates on the CFTs, pitot tube and of course the canopy. This is what it looks now. I did the same on the Liteningpod as I did on the Lantirnpod. The only change is that I used the holographic films from my old Visa Gold to get a more goldtinted look. Originally I was going to use the holographic film from my old cards on the "discolight" that the Apache and other helicopter have. But since I've not gotten around to start any helicoptermodels yet and I've cut the hologram from my old card for a few years now I got some more to experiment with. This time I think it really did the trick. Now I'm heading back to the work table and do some work on the C. Perhaps I'll manage another update later tonight. ;) /Bosse
Qian
Awesome, Bosse! You're almost there for the Sufa! Keep working on your remaining Vipers and hope to see them all lined up together! That would be GREAT!
Marlin
Awesome, Bosse! You're almost there for the Sufa! Keep working on your remaining Vipers and hope to see them all lined up together! That would be GREAT! Thanks Qian, I will of course post pics of all three when they are finished. I hope to mount the ordnance on the C tonight. Stay tuned..... /Bosse
Marlin
Hi, I finally got around to the ordnance for the C-model. 600 gallon drop tanks from Skunkworksmodels. Spicebombs and Python IV's, also from Skunkworksmodels. Now this one will have a little rest. Lets get some decals on the D-model. Later...... /Bosse
Marlin
Hi again. The D-model is now fully decaled. The decals for the D is from the same sheet as the C. Isradecal IAF No-67. The decals went down with absolutey no problems at all. No silvering is showing. Life is easy when the decals are this great. /Bosse
Qian
I like what I'm seeing!
Aigore
Real nice decals there, Bosse! Just hope you haven´t started to rush things...that seam between the the airframe and the intake doesn´t look on par with your usual attention to detail and fit. I know sanding and filling is a female dog, but it pays to put down that extra time to get it nice and smooth. (you know how much I love filling and sanding everything I lay my hands on ) Just some constructive critique, mate. Cheers!

That seam isn't one of my better ones. Somehow the resin from Airwaves and the CA glue became hard as concrete. I should have used my beltsander on it as normal sandpaper and files couldn't do anything about it. But I took the "lazy boy" way out of it and just ignored it. I don't usually flip my aircraft over after they're done. I don't like this particular Hasegawa F-16 that much. The plastic is so brittle and doesn't take glue as it should do. Too bad I got a one or two more with the same kind of "bad/poor" plastic in the stash. I did enjoy the Kinetic Sufa though. So that will be my flavour of F-16's in the future. /Bosse
Uncle Uncool
Nice work, Bosse! Black-clad ninja's already been sent to yer home in order to retrieve the C for me. Ya'd better sleep with one eye open tonight, mate. Oh, Qian introduced me to the ninja, by the way. :D Say, whut with the centreline fuel tank in the C? Is it from skunkworks models as well? Those sun-drenched pics of the D reeeaaally rock! Hey, d'ya know whut? Me is readin' Stieg Larsson's Millenium series. Lisbeth Salander's character has completely caught me. Cheers, Bee-Bee! Unc² (very uncool these days, I dunno why...) Thanks Uncle. So you fancies my C. I better keep it under lock and key then. The centreline tank is Tamiyas from the kit. The Millenium series Rocks! I read all three books on four night last year. Sad that Stieg passed away so young. /Bosse
Marlin
Hi Gang. I did some work on the Barak D tonight. It now got legs and wheels. And one gear door. I thought I had time before the TV show began to do the other door as well. But NO! I also mounted the GBU-16's to the pylons. And the C has got the seat installed. But I had to compete against Nature tonight. This is the sunset as of CET 21.50 from my livingroom window tonight. This is THE most pleasing thing about my apartment. Summer sunsets. And we got three more week of growing daylight coming, then it turns back again. We live below the Arctic circle, but these days it's not going dark at all. Just some murky grayish twilighty condition. Stockholm/Upplands Väsby is situated just south of 60 degrees north. /Bosse
Marlin
Evening All. I'm now finally nearing the end of the multibuild. This is the state my Baraks and Sufa is at the moment The Sufa lacks the canopy and pitot tube, the same goes for the Barak C. I got some more work left on the Barak D to do. But I've mounted the droptanks and GBU-16's The Lantirn is also in place. And I've also fixed the damage I did to one of the rails to the ejectorseat in the cockpit. More will follow....... /Bosse
